My Dad had a '69 GT500 for 20 years so I have a soft spot for Mr. Shelby — though my chili is far better.
Happy Birthday, Legend!

WOW, 89, and after a heart transplant no less!
More pertinently because of a heart transplant, hence his charity.

Just received a phone call from Jim Sitz informing me that Carroll has passed away.

Having said that, I have been unable to verify what I heard yesterday, and apparently I misunderstood what I was told. I apologize for the confusion.

Absolutely, and I really admire that! Giving back is the only way to fly.More pertinently because of a heart transplant, hence his charity.

We had a house guest in the late-'60s, who at that point was the longest-living heart transplant patient. Five years then, which was a really long time in those days. He died a few years after that, and a Milwaukeean named Betty Anick took over the "longest survivor" mantle for a while. Carroll's longevity was unheard of then, of course.

Never may be a tad strong, but I am always a bit leery a facility where "garbage in, garbage out" can occur."Never?" It's been reliable for me so far, and (thankfully) this time as well.
