Phillip Island Classic is just about to begin for another year.

With the organisational changes I hope it continues to run smoothly and all competitors, officials and spectators enjoy the 4 days of historic motor racing coming up at one of Australia's great circuits.

Here's some snaps from previous PI Classics..

2007... If Sir Jack's looking a little unsteady its because he's just been on a parade lap with Norm Beechey. Despite the fact that it may well look like they've been to the drive-in! Jack will be missed at PI.

2014... and yes sometimes you even get to see some racing

Hopefully i'll have a few to add from 2015, next week.

Unfortunatly I am not. I had intended too but all these circumstances!

Looking at the entry why do they insist on a list of names instead of a list of categories?

My look at the list is that there seems a LOT of regularity competitors and it seems quite a few Vees too.

I ran into a certain Indy car driver at Sutton Forest on my way back to Canberra, when we both had stopped for fuel ...wished Ian well and hope the meeting is a cracker!

Lee up the top right hand corner is a re sort function. Choose class and all will change to your requirement.

Will be there Saturday as always.

Either car will be fine, unless their particular class they would run in are having to sit it out for the year. Due to too many categories wanting to run.

Contact the VHRR direct or speak with UK competitors like Andy Newell or Roz Shaw about some of the logistics and experiences about the circuit and racing 'down under'. Be warned there's no shortage of competitive Mustangs in Australia.

I'm heading to the Island in the morning.

Here's one to start...

I had a poster of this car on my bedroom wall as a kid. Fantastic to see the real thing after all these years.

Stupid weather. And dopey here (who's been to The Island many times now) brought next to no warm clothes. Dopey.

But you did take a hat and sunscreen for those magical two hours on Sunday afternoon before the thunderstorm hits?

I figured that by the times on Natsoft. Everyone is very slow. pity for most competitors who would prefer it dry.

So good to see Gerry's car doing what it was designed to do...and so good to see PI putting on some typically British weather!

So much better than this one just sitting there looking glum at Donington 2010...

Yes I know Mrs Still-Waytin...

Noel promised that he would have your sunroom finished 2 months ago.

But you see, he has a sick relative in Australia and was called away urgently to tend to his feeble Aunt in the antipodes.

When he returns (assuming he is uninjured or isn't too badly sunburnt) your job, will be his highest priority!

Looking at James other pics it seems most of the field were on slicks. The track was obviously drier than the form up. horrid conditions, damp or dry line. Slicks are dangerous, wets go off in 2 laps. Lightly grooved intermediate would be the go but how many have them? Those conditions are not too bad on semi slicks once you get some heat in them.

The other thing is ofcourse lovely restored cars and they come back in filthy and gravel rashed to death too. Yet alone very damp drivers!

Must be better today as Davison has done 29s and Stubber 30s.

Where is John Bowe? I saw his name on the entry but cannot find it in the results. Even first practice.

If only Natsoft would list the results by outright order, instead of class order.
It's doing my head in as to who came first in certain events.

Timbo, try looking at the lap-chart page as well.

Here's another pic.
