I'm sure the Ferrari team is gutted and won't be able to sleep tonight.

"Behaved in an inappropriate manner"? What the hell does it even mean? Did they get drunk and uncontrollable?

2007 was such a weird season. Any other year in any other team at the last race of the season they would have asked Alonso to slow on the last lap to let Lewis through to win the championship. I know that they drew on points, but Alonso could have let Mclaren and Lewis win the championship. By then, though, the relationship was to such a point that he would never have done that.
Anyway, jump forward to today and I think we may have seen a change in the season. Ferrari were very good during qualie at Monza and ran Merc close. They have made a step forwards. Yes during the race Lewis ran away but I think we saw a phenomenal drive from him which may have helped hide the gap between the two teams. I think that at Suzuka it will be much closer. It may be close enough for Ferrari to exploit the gap between Lewis and Nico - that .25 average in qualie could suddenly become a real issue.
Sry for the off topic, but that's plain false. In that case Hamilton would have gained 1 point and finished tied on points with Raikkönen, but 2nd due to the number of victories (6 vs 4).
With regard to Suzuka...you could be right. I expect the gap to be around 3 tenths in Q. Mercedes may have lost sth, but still have the better aero and the best engine. Williams and Red Bull might swap positions.

@JohnWallF1@ScuderiaFerrari Wrong. The Ferrari mechanics pushed aside officials holding a barrier and then smashed into photographers at PF.

Oops Max collected material against him for future discussions. Especially if he gets to win a championship.
And rightfully so.
When a driver is carried by journalists like Verstappen, ends up most of the time an arrogand idiot.

If they were pushing people over then it's pretty terrible behavior, I'll admit. Pushing people 'aside', though? Eh.Darren Heath @F1Photographer 2h2 hours ago

Is that the aforementioned inappropriate behaviour?
Indeed, thugs. Hooligans.

One of these days we're going to see someone obliterated by an F1 car live on TV and we will never be able to unsee it.
There is a delay between the stream and the live event... They would never show an accident like that. (See: Bianchi accident)

I'm not Darren Heath so you don't have to convince me, but no that's not the incident he's talking about.
from autosport:
A line of barriers, attended by a handful of security staff, initially held back the Scuderia personnel, with a couple breaking through and into the area where the photographers were standing.
As Vettel celebrated in front of the photographers, the larger group then managed to push the barriers to the floor and get past the security staff.

I gave the info because someone asked why the apology had been demanded, not because I'm outraged or whatever.

Ah, it seems the guys were just high on emotions and overeager to celebrate with Seb. Not a stellar behaviour, but understandable.

I don't trust a single thing Darren Heath says about anything. It's no surprise his profile is a hell of a lot lower than it was a decade ago, he has needlessly said and wrote a lot of speculation, rumour and frankly cheap gossip about a lot of people in the paddock over the years.

Yes, I've noticed recently that he seems to have an agenda and has started to use his position to peddle it. Maybe he's been doing it for a while and I haven't noticed it.

Race might have been boring for "certain" fans, but this whole weekend has been a breath of fresh air. I expect Merc to be back at it by Suzuka though.

You are totally right! Got that one wrong. Will edit post to reflect that.

The Gilles / arnoux would have resulted in a grid penalty or a drive-through based on current F1 stewardship.
Well, Arnoux was outside the white lines once, and they touched once, where Villeneuve turns in on Arnoux, and loosing out himself. So, no. Arnoux did not gain an advantage by going off the track, and Villeneuve, while 'causing a collsion', did not do anything that warrants a penalty.
But did you notice that they don't run wide each time they try to overtake each other? That they leave space on the outside, that they keep themselves on the track, and respect the other car? That is what's lacking today.

I expect merc to be back up the front again next week but it will be fun to have a Ferrari or two in there to force them to think.
Pirelli have announced the tyre for Suzuka so could be close.

That explains why there were no RBR employees near the parc ferme; they weren't allowed through until much later.

Well if they bolted the Red Bull chassis unto the Ferrari engine, Vettel had romped away into the distance too. It works both ways.
No it doesn't.
Vettel left Red Bull of his own choice...

Huh? Like thats going to happen. One way or another Red Bull will get a decent engine, but I doubt Ferrari will be able create a chassis as good as Red Bulls while Newey is with RBR. Anyway Ricciardo smashed Vettel last year, so on that basis I think your underestimating how well he did keeping up with an underpowered car at Singapore. I'm not so sure Seb would have been able to do the same if things were reversed.

The team didn't realize to use pit board to instruct him, I guess.
