Ah, the Rolex 24- America's Le Mans. A test of true endurance, speed, and reliability. Those words can also be spoken for Le Mans. Both races, along with Sebring, make the Endurance Triple Crown. Ford made the most headlines with their announcement of running two full-time cars in the newly renamed WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Ganassi still has their trademark porototypes, and Scott Pruett looks to finally break Haywood's record of overall wins, but with Action Express. The DeltaWing was out early last year, but we'll see how they do.
FlexBox Racing's #54 looks to get revenge as an extremely late-race crash in the bus stop cost them victory in PC, but PR1/Mathiesen look to double up on victories in the open-cockpit spec PC.
GTLM in last year's running saw a 4th place overall from Corvette, and an overall victory in the Petit Le Mans, unheard of for a while. The primarily-factory class will be stocked with talent with names of Jan Magnussen, Antonio Garcia, John Edwards, Lucas Luhr, Joey Hand, Ryan Briscoe, Nick Tandy, Earl Bamber, Giancarlo Fisichella, and many more. This could be the headline-making class in IMSA this year.
An upgrade to the GT Daytona class allows GT3-spec cars to compete regularly, so Lamborghini has many cars in competition.
CTSCC will again run the BMW Performance 200 on Friday January 29
