Nice!

They were showing DC yesterday during FP3. He had just done the installation lap and was standing there in the pit having a look at the red bulletin. He seemed to be very amused. :D

Sure I caught a glimpse yesterday of some of the Red Bull pit crew walking around with cut-outs of DCs face as well. I hope he doesn't stack it in the first lap!

That layout is beautiful. The current F1 Racing could learn a thing of two from the Red Bulletin IMO.

The Red Bulletin is well wicked ! It's jam-packed with creativity, originality and wittiness.

Given the current state of F1 Racing, I much prefer printing out the Red Bulletin.

Aesthetically it's beautiful.

That issue above is very impressive, but most of the time it's typical Red Bull ADD.

For sure. Who is its intended audience do you think? Paddock folk or the great unwashed?

Out on first lap, in the first few corners. He's crashed so many times this year, this is all really fitting.

That is totally tragic. Poor DC. He absolutely deserved better than that.

A great driver, race winner with a long career.

To be taken out on the first lap just isn't right.

Farewell DC, you've been awesome.

Bye DC!

There were good times and bad times, but in the end he accomplished more than most other drivers have.

In amongst the chaos it was not the right sending off for DC.

See you next season outside of the cockpit, history will show you as the most successful driver never to win the WDC

Bye DC and thanks for everything!

I will never forget your races with Mika, Michael, Eddie and Rubens - 98-01. Magical years.

Cheers DC. Gutted that it ended like that for him.

A great guy, and great racer.

Sad to see him go - a great guy - a great racer - just never got the breaks that others enjoyed.

I hope he has a role with the GPDA or FIA in some way, to leverage some sensibility in rule changes and stewardship - as I think he has as much to give to F1 as an ex-driver, as he has as a driver.

As much as a lot of us have had a laugh at DC's expense this year, this was not the right way for him to end his career.

All the best for the future DC

I agree he is!

I first started watching F1 because of DC and supported him through the ups and downs. He didn't quite have the extra 2 tenths he needed a lot of the time but still achieved more than most. I am glad he will still be seen and heard at the races as he is more eloquent than most, if not all the other drivers.
If you haven't read his biography then I suggest you do as its a great read!

Well, never a big fan of him, but he was a very respected and competent driver. I will miss him, as he always fited very well in the "highlander" role. Thanks David! Have a great retirement!

Oh, why not a FIA President? :smoking:

This is a good example of why the FIA presidency shouldn't be decided by public vote.

More oblique 'insider knowledge' from Ross Stonefield.

Because my opinion differs from yours, because I understand the role of the FIA better than you, or because I can spell my own name properly? I don't know if any of that is particularly 'insider' but it's certainly better thought out.

Don't you think it is a conflict of interest to abuse the people who subscribe to the magazine(s)/website produced by the publishing house you work for on a daily basis?

No, most of you aren't subscribers and most of our readership are also not subscribers. In theory you are correct, but I've only ever posted here of my own merits and was a member of this bulletin board for years before I did any work for it, and even that was nearly a year before it became Autosport.

I don't expect any different treatment because I work for the website (not that anyone actually gives it) and as equally don't dish any out. The only bearing it has is there are certain discussions I stay out of because to give any of my knowledge would be to give away company information.

.

So who thinks we will see DC testing over the Winter and possibly a few races next year now that Webber is hobbled (and I mean his leg, not his driving).

That would make a fair bit of sense. He's an experienced hand and could be a de la Rosa like tester in the interim, not that Vettel seems to be lacking in anything. And he's one of the few guys to have driven slicks the last time around.

All that and it'd give him some priceless insight into the new generation of cars for his BBC work.

The way the sport is going, DC's timing was impeccable, just like Bernie's missus, they got out at the right time.
Have a good life.

Coulthard invited to test Loeb's Citroen

"I would love to...but not in a forest because at the rate I've been crashing, it would make me clearly uncomfortable," he joked. "I don't know if there is a tarmac test track or something because that would be better for me."

I love this guy! :rotfl:

Being situated where they were, I'm surprised they managed to keep it going as long as they did. Shame really.
