"We're planning on having full length races right down to very short races for those that want it. Tyre wear and pit stops etc will be scaled accordingly so that they all still make sense. The integration of this and the lap length is still being investigated. We are not recycling tracks from GRID. They are all being built from scratch with our new, updated Ego tech in mind (which is much better than you've seen in DiRT and GRID) and will be fully researched, photographed, scanned, videoed etc. to ensure accuracy"

"There's always a push for more, more, more people online (sounds great on paper), and indeed we have up to 24 catered for with our F1 game, but we've found 8 is the magic number for DiRT 2."

And then when you create a game and have the collision on, because all the idiots are used to racing it thru each others cars, they aren't able to brake to avoid crashing in your car, they cant even drive around your car and overtake, all they do is crash. it sucks playing with people like that, i think only once i had a game that had 11 players and collision on and pit stops, the race was about 10 laps and people actually would try to not crash... and drive like a formula one car should be driven instead of the usual mess of cars going off the track, in this one night people were actually braking before the turns!
silly kids...

About the problem you have racing the bikes agaisnt the computer rather than other people online, in that way I guess I can't complain from the F1 CE, if you play on career mode it's fairly difficult, no crashing at all, pit and rules apply, getting tests from the midpack teams doesn't come that often, never even got one from ferrari, mclaren or renault.

I guess if the PS3 version isn't out until 2010, neither will the Xbox or PC versions. If that's the case they may aswell just scrap the 2009 season and aim for a release of the 2010 season instead. Otherwise we'll be starting to play with the 2009 cars just as the real life 2010 cars are rolled out. Unless they go for more than one release a year we're always going to be a season behind.
Of course DLC is an option for the Xbox and PS3, but not not so easy to implement on the PC unless it's free (unlikely).

"We have a planned press announcement to be released soon confirming dates for all skus, hence the lack of info on this forum. There have been no delays and our dates are as they were when we finished our detailed design and planning dev phase some time ago. This doesn't mean they tie into the speculation about dates on this forum of course... speculation is just that after all..."

Games usually come around too late into a season, or in the saeason afterwards, and i miss the days of cross console meaning PC gaming.

One would imagine that technical data from the teams is difficult (to say the least!) to aquire at the beggining of the season, especially this year! So have a bit of patience guys, I doubt very much that the game will really be delayed until 2010.;)

"Just wanted to give you guys/gals on the forum a heads-up that we are going to be making an F1 announcement very soon, and that you should keep an eye on these forums and the internet gaming press over the coming few days. We're aware that there has been a lot of speculation recently regarding the release dates and also the platforms for the upcoming F1 game, and this announcement should clear things up for you all."

Why the PSP and Wii are getting Formula One first is beyond me. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The hardcore racing fans are not the ones with the "wiimotes" and black paper weights.

If it turns out to be any good, then I might buy a PSP just for the hell of it. I'm a sucker for F1 games, and I haven't played a great one in years.

"Hi all,
Following on from this mornings announcement, I've noticed quite a few questions on these forums regarding whether the next gen versions of the game being released in mid-2010 will be based on the 2009 or 2010 seasons.
I'm pleased to be able to confirm that after speaking to the dev team and raising your questions and concerns with them that the 2009 Wii & PSP versions of the game will be based on the 2009 season, and that the next-gen versions of the game coming in mid-2010 will be based on 2010 season data."
this now is a major change from the initial FAQ of "based on season 2009" but at least we now know that something must have changed.

we can't get the visuals of the tracks the way they are supposed to look, forget the sound... this is making formula one championship edition look like a great game, i too will consider buying a psp to get that game just because i am fanatical about f1 games, too bad we dont get what we COULD get... but then i think, if i keep buying **** that bernie keeps shoving on the fans, then im helping him... lol if he doesnt ruin the sport and teams and fans running the business enough, also the games sucks!
Why we cant have graphics sophisticated as the ones they have for example on some xbox360 games? It's almost like the racing games are nothing compared to the evolution of the 1st shooter games for instance.
And do they really need to be that bureaucratic about it? i mean can't they have all the good tracks that f1 is always running there instead of having just the 17 or 18 that they will use said season?
Like f1 CE, besides the online game that's not very good and you cant set up your car, the main thing missing from it is spa-francorchamps, i know in that season they didn't have a race there, but still, i think spa might be the number 1 ranked track for f1 fans...
So many reasons i dont like bernie, and think he should be gone, this is just another, the f1 games are like him, old narrowed minded and bureaucratic.

The PSP version does look slightly disappointing, though. Reminds me of Formula 1 '99 on the original Playstation.

I have a PS3. Anybody got any suggestions as to what to do until 2010?!

None that are too serious. Ferrari Challenge and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue are the most sim-like, I believe.
If you just want to race and forget about the sim experience, try DiRT, GRID, or either of the two Motorstorm games. They're all quite well received.
