I hope when Boullier said about radical design he didn't mean livery design. :rotfl:

Anyone else really curious to see the R31?

I know they have beent talking of getting more radical on the design (the r30 was a stop gap measure) so I'm really curious to see what this beast will look like! Hoping for some radical daring thinking!:)

Lopez said early this season (after Spa AFAIR) that the R31 already generates as much downforce as the R30... with a simple diffuser of course.

I combined two analyses I made about the R30 in this post:

Really? It's quite unbelievable because DDD's generated hell lot of downforce. Do you have a link?

Unbelievable ? not really... The monster diffuser of the R30 has in my opinion compromised a bit the functionning of the floor and the beam wing. I mean, with a conventional diffuser, the next Renault will certainly have a more effective floor and a more effective beam wing...
In addition, some people, Pat Symonds amongst them, say that the new laws about the diffuser are still not very clear and that loopholes will still be there...
The source ? I don't have a reliable one yet...

Yeah, overall level of presence of the R30 this year was pretty high, I would say even higher than Mercedes GP had.

Sorry, but I don't understand the whole excitement about Petrov these days. He didn't do anything spacial last race. It wasn't anything unusual having fresh engine and good pace to keep other drivers behind. I haven't seen him fighting with Alonso but the only thing I saw was Ferrari unable to get close enough to Renault. If not making mistakes sometimes and money is enough to get a seat, I am lost. Was it Petrov or car good? Petrov the Great - sorry, I don't buy it!

And what do you think about fellow team mate V. Petrov?
"There is not much to say. I think it was for him it was a very tough season. His first sentence, which sticks to my memory, fell after the first day of testing. He told me that Formula 1 is easy. Almost the same as the GP2 races. Maybe he changed his mind ... Our cooperation in the second half of the season was much better than the first."

They are certainly not friends. I never saw them together on the platform they ride the circuits before the race... Kubica was mostly talking to Truli, perhaps is just a matter of language (Italian).
