Any of you current lot going to be at Indy? I'll be based just North of Cincinnati. Maybe a few of us can get together?

I will be and would love to make the acquaintance. I'll likely stay with friends in Indy, but there should be plenty of opportunity to hook up. I'll be in Section B for the race (not my first choice, but maybe Tony George read my opinion of him!). It would be nice to have a Nostalgia Forum lunch or dinner if enough of us are there.

I going to try to sneak out late Saturday,
I have the feeling I'm going to be traveling very bohemian.

If enough of us can make the connection, it should be fun!!!!

If anyone can come up with the coin for my airfare I'll be happy to go with them. And we can stay at my son's place at Bloomington.. but I've got to say that if I only ever see one American race it has to be at Elkhart Lake.

I plan on being there. That place is HUGE.

No idea on what to do about lodging.

Meeting might prove to be easier said than done.

It's still early days. I'll be staying at the Homewood Suites in Cincinnati Thursday through Monday. But a dinner in Indianapolis after Saturday qualifying sounds like a good idea.

If i was to see one US race it would be either the Michigan or Fontana superspeedway CART races. There is something insane about driving 3 wide at 400Kmh... i'd love to see that.

...must be the polluted Mediterranean water your grandparents bathed in... how anyone can put a bowl ahead of the run down to Canada Corner I will never understand. Next time I'm in Sydney (why did I not call in last week?) I'll have a severe talking to you and your Alfa about things...

Stock cars are more of a spectacle partly due to the amount of air they displace and the sound of their big engines. If you get close enough you'll feel as if you face just got sucked off.

My brother-in-law lives in Kokomo just north of Indy. I have toyed with the idea of going, but not sure if I want to sink serious money into it. I haven't even checked on the ticket prices, availability etc. What does that look like? If it isn't too bad (a relative term...) I might float this by She Who Must Be Obeyed and hope for the best! I used to handle billions in the Defense budget and I still get a allowance...

However, if there is the chance for a get-together of the Atlas crowd, I might reconsider going. I am a slave to my schedule, but perhaps this far out I could rearrange some things - Yes! I already have most of September scheduled...and almost all in-between...

If you have a chance to go to an F1 race, go for it! I'm hoping Indy is as great and experience as the Canadian GP was last year. It was not cheap, but it was definitey worth the experience. I can't wait until September! As I understand it, all seats are sold out through the Indy ticket office for reserved seating, but you can get tickets through other ticket groups. And I'm sure General Admission tickets are still available. Good luck to all who are trying to go Posted Image
