I am Don Capps, Moderator of this Forum. I also write a column for Atlas F1, Rear View Mirror, and send the 8W Team articles from time to time for their Specials section. My interest is fairly wide ranging in racing history. I enjoy pretty much the gamut from Grand Prix to Champ Cars to the Grand Nationals and so forth.
I have to express my heartfelt Thanks to Bira for giving us those wonderful Forum. She saw the interest and made the decision to establish it and allowing me the fun of watching it grow.
Enough from me. And next...

Not sure if I'm considered old or new. I've lurked at this forum since the day of its inception, when it was more affectionately known as the Geriatric Ward ;)
Anyway, I'm here (even when you don't think that I am) and I am willing to wager that I know Don Capps' RVM columns better than anyone...
I'll shut up now

Do you know me Don? I'm the one, who was just 2.2 points behind you in the last 8W game. I'm really proud of it ;)

For those that do not know me, I am one of the Editors at 8W, spanish by nationality (what probably explain some of my weird constructions in English, not exactly my mother tongue) and having more fun learning than teaching.
And it is difficult enough to explain how grateful I am to the "heir of St Jenks" for not allowing the magic to go away.

Fellow Atlas columnist, Mark Alan Jones (FAQ and the GP Album) and Australian based race reporter (Motorsport News) and hoping that one days brains could be downloaded. There's knowledge here I'd very much like to know, but I guess that's what this BB is for right?

That's Irish for "Present". Its what we used to have to shout out at school roll call back in the 60's.
Love the forum.
I'm looking forward to getting my Seven out on Goodwood race circuit Monday week to give you all a first hand account of a classic old track.

In fact, I'm a bit concerned that the Seven's exhaust noise might exceed the permitted level for track days. They enforce the regulations very strictly. If the car's too noisy, I won't be let out on the track. Sevens have been known to fail the test in the past.
I've been watching videos of the recent racing there to get an idea of the correct lines. There was some good in-car footage from Tiff Needells's Lister Jaguar at the 1998 meeting. We've been having atrocious weather over here too, I'm sure your'e aware of the shennanigans at Silverstone this weekend. Lets hope next weekend is a bit less danp.

Way back when I was studying English at college, we were given an essay to write entitled - "'Hamlet's problem is not that he thinks too much, but that he thinks to no purpose'- discuss".
We don't think too much on this forum at all and I definitely think we have a purpose, namely, to educate and entertain.
Discussion is always worthwhile.

I have been following F1 since the early 60s and most any other kind of racing since the mid 70s.
My hobbie is photography and am an avid road bicycle rider (viva pinarello!!!)
I enjoy the Nostalgia BB very much since it has lots of interesting comments, objective information and a very positive/helping attitude, every now and then I go to the Readers Comments board only to see they still focus on bashing/insulting each other

because of the challenging ordeal it
is for me since I use webtv. When/if
I ever achieve "member" status I'll
feel I've earned it!
And am currently feeling a little
'sheepish' in that I have not yet
responded to a couple of questions
that "buddyt" and "Art" asked me, of
which I didn't readily know the
answers to!

My wife asked me the same question the other day as she was peering over my shoulder at a thread I had open. And then, to my surprise and delight, I log on today to find out that I am now termed a 'member'. I am so happy I going to go and wake my wife up from her slumber (just to tell her the news though, as I have not finished browsing these forum pages!!!)

Sorry,
Bad choice of words, perhaps, but it doesn't alter the fact I just can't keep up with all of this - as entertaining as it is.
