After a very nice email the pointed out the glaringly obvious: Keep It Simple Silly! plus an excellent idea that really makes sense, let me propose the following based on the recommendation I received:
1) The Atlas F1 Nostalgia Forum Pantheon of Racers is open to any Racer NOT already in The ATLAS F1 Hall of Fame. The members of the ATLAS F1 HoF are automatically inducted into The AF1NFPoR.
2) You get to nominate up to 10 Racers for induction into The AF1NFPoR in one posting on an appropriate thread that the Moderator will establish.
3) The top 10 in votes are inducted into The AF1NFPoR this year, with the top 5 in subsequent years. Voting limited to period of two week to begin from the day The Moderator posts the thread. The Official Atlas F1 Nostalgia Formum Teller is The Honorable & Clever Mark Jones. And Your Moderator & Scribe retains his roles as JM Balestre and Bernie Ecclestone and Chris Economaki...
Personally, I like this proposal much better.
Please let me know ASAP.

keir,
after perusing your submitted vote, the one driver you nominated is still eligible
additionally under the revised rules, subsequent to the approval of The Moderator of the Noble Gathering, the following may recast because of the following drivers being ineligible because of World Championship status, and/or voilations of the recently retired/departed clause. Those falsely nominated were, Mario Andretti, Rene Arnoux, Alberto Ascari, Jim Clark, Juan Manuel Fangio, Graham Hill, Ayrton Senna, Jackie Stewart & John Surtees, all because they were world champions, and double for Senna because of the ten years recently departed clause. Senna died 6 years ago today. Rene Arnoux retired in 1989 thus he would not be eligible until 2004.
Joe Fan may re-cast 5 votes
Alfisti - 5 votes
Dennis David - 5 votes
Paul Hartshorne - 3 votes
again, subsequent to the approval of The Moderator of the Noble Gathering, this leniancy will not be re-applied to future nominations, as these nominations were received prior to The Moderators clarification.
yours
Mark Alan Jones

"And what methodology might that be?"
"Well you might call it the 'suck it and see' approach"

Hence the nice email suggesting I re-look the Pantheon criteria. I think it makes life easier all the way around and is a refreshing return to "run what ya brung..." The fewer the rules the better. The Gordon Murrays of the world are heartbroken, but their day will come...

Good, then I will edit my vote and re-cast a deserving vote for five more drivers.
