Hi!
I have seen pictures of packed grandstands.
At Oran Park in 1977, for example.
Was the Rothmans Series better promoted than
the Tasman Cup? What did the drivers, the
teams and the press think of it?
Rothmans F5000 Series - a success?

Promotion, I think it can be fairly said, varied from year to year. The Tasman rode a wave because of the WDC competitors... but suffered in Australia because often the series was wrapped up in NZ before they got here.
Rothmans got behind their series with promotion pretty heavily... but don't be deceived by those packed grandstands at Oran Park... They can be packed even if the rest of the place is deserted.
