Massa and Smedley made it obvious what was going on there. Will the FIA take action?

Surely that's not within the regulations. Will the FIA investigate these blatant team orders?

Well at least we've something to discuss here for the upcoming week.

F1 needed something new. Turkey is such a long time ago.

Well this is disgusting.

They should be punished as Team Orders are clearly illegal in FIA regulations and that was a team order.

So what is there not to be guilty of?

Well, the only way Ferrari could've worded that any worse was "Felipe, let Fernando pass for the championship". If that's not team orders I don't know what is.

Most obvious team order since Austria 2002.

The **** is going to hit the fan, you know that much.

Methinks Ferrari will regret this move.

Time for Felipe to move out of Ferrari. That's what you get for years of hard labour and dedication.

Ban all of them for making it so obvious and making a joke out of F1.

Irrespective of whether you think the team order ban rule should be scrapped, it currently stands. That was a blatantly illegal move; either Ferrari will be punished or the rule is completely worthless because it's not enforced.

They have to. It can not be more obvious than this, they even apologized. The only thing debatable is what the punishment will be, will it go against Alonso or the team? Money or points? Interesting.

I would LOL if Ferrari are DQ'd and Vettel wins because of it.

Massa should join Webber! Not bad for a no. 2 driver, huh?

Well It might be the first case of team being punished for team orders, I honestly can't see a way for Ferrari to explain it wasn't a team order.

"Alonso is faster than you. confirm"
<Massa lifts, Alonso passes by him"
"good, now stick with him. sorry"

Very sad. Can Alonso sink much lower? No wonder Mclaren did'nt want this looser anymore.

Forget time penalties, they should get a ban!

No team order charge but perhaps a 'bringing the sport in to disrepute'...

I would not rule that out. Team order is banned, and the telemetry shows that Massa eased off exiting the hairpin. It is blatantly obvious!!

Nothing, but a double DQ would be a penalty aimed at the team, not the drivers.

He obeyed illegal team orders. As a driver, he is responsible for following the rules. He violated the rules. I know, makes not much sense, but in theory it is like that. DT for both of them maybe?

Give Alonso a penalty so he drops to second and Massa gets the win, then removed both drivers and the team from both the championships...

A) Smedley's tone of voice and "please confirm you got the message"
B) Smedley's tone and post-pass message, especially "Sorry."
C) Telemetry showing Massa lifted to let Alonso by.

Could it be any more obvious? Is this something the FIA could investigate?

Slowed down. He was a willing party to breaking F1's rules.

Jean Todt handing out penalties to Ferrari for issuing team orders? Now that would be ironic. Let's face facts Ferrari are going to get off with this. They shouldn't as they've made a mockery of the sport but they will.

Sorry excuse for a sport. I wouldn't mind it so much if the race itself was entertaining like Canada was.

This will be the most memorable part of the race. What a joke F1 has become when this is the main "talking point" and not the racing. Races like this make me ask why I watch in the first place.

FIA should fine itself for such shitty racing.

Hopefully but the other teams wouldn't dare protest as they all do the same, just not as blatantly. The fan backlash might be enough as it will be. Sucks.

I think this will be investigated, it deserves a penalty but I don't think he'll get one, they will re-clarify it and say under no conditions may teams manipulate positions and whatnot. It deserves a penalty though. Ferrari should be stripped of the race points but the drivers should keep theirs.

Perfectly legal comments, informing Massa of a real race situation. What's the problem?

What surprises me is not that Massa had to let Alonso by, no, I am surprised that Ferrari made it so extremely clumsy. A simple "there is a 0.23% chance of rain" wpould be a much better code phrase than "Alonso is faster than you, can you please confirm you have understood this message".

First I thought the most disgusting thing was whiner Alonso saying "This is ridiculous" when Massa put up a fight. But no, they could make it even worse

Smedley wanted it as obvious as possible. He even said sorry. Hopefully that's enough for some justice.
