Hey gang,
I'm trying to find out which World Champions have experience racing in the UK. What I deem as "experience" is running in Formula Ford, Formula 3, British F3000, British F2, etc. British series only. Racing at Silverstone in International F3000 doesnt count. However if they raced at the World Formula Ford Championship at Brands Hatch, id like you to count that. So far.....

Brabham went to England to advance his racing career - quickly finding a home at Cooper. He would obviously have raced in some form of events there before he got into his first GP at Aintree in 1955, and he was also involved in the Kangaroo Stable Aston Martin DB3S team, which contested a number of races in England and on the continent. Later he ran in F2, and as late as 1966/67(?) was running in lesser formulae with the Honda-powered F2 cars along with Hulme.

Graham Hill raced Formula Ford in the UK, and raced at my local circuit of Castle Combe even. Ayrton Senna, Alan Jones, Jody Scheckter, Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill all raced Formula Ford there. There is a book coming out at the beginning of July on the first 50 years of Castle Combe, so I should be able to tell you more then!

Darren, you are lucky enough to live near the combe. One of my favourite places to be on a summers afternoon.
one of the few things about blighty that i really miss.
Ascari, fangio etc must have done some formula Libre racing didn't they?
Rosberg did F.Atlantic, and so did A Jones, anmongst other things.

Rosberg ran in the NZ series, blew their minds, but I don't think he ran in US series. Not that I know, mind you...

Rosberg did a fair amount of North American Formula Atlantic, in addition to New Zealand. I don't know if he did the entire series - I suspect not. But he was around enough to be a pain the the ass to an up-and-coming Bobby Rahal.
He also did some second-generation Can-Am, which IMHO doesn't count for much. Not really a feeder series anyway.
