I don't think Felipe will be allowed to beat Nando in 2013.

End of story.

He'd be better off being the sole focus of another team. Like Williams or Force India or Sauber or even Lotus perhaps.

Ahhhh first it was the "he surely will never be the same after the accident, Alonso wouldn't beat 2008 Massa so easily". Since it's obvious he is in perfect physical condition let's switch to "he will never be allowed to beat Alonso" base on... well... nothing actually. The man himself has recognised his poor performance during the first half of the season was his own fault and he fought to overcome it. He will have his chance at the beginning of 2013 as he had the previous seasons. Will he beat Alonso? Probably not but that's because Alonso is better, plain and simple.
I'm sure Massa will be stronger next year and I would be glad because I think he is a nice guy.

Who died and made you king of the world? This is the 2nd post of your like this I've seen. Really poor post, of which this forum doesn't need.

Lets look at your post.

" I don't think". <-- clearly this shows this is your opinion and most certainly not fact.

Now let's skip forward just a bit to the next sentence.

"End of story" <-- so because you don't think that's it, it's over, no discussion(the point of this BB) that's it it's written in stone. Your opinion is fact, something nobody else in the world can lay claim to.

Just because you don't think doesn't make it true nor is it the end of the story. Again typical fanboy stuff that has no place here to begin with. I'm all for you having your opinion and sharing it, but no need to be condescending and arrogant.

My personal opinion is that with the way the season ended with both drivers driving strong they will most likely start off on a clean slate. Felipe will have a chance to again prove he can be quick and be allowed to race. Obviously if he has another bad year and starts to perform poorly and he can help the team, he'll be asked to do so. But there's no evidence that he'll be anyone's whipping boy from the word go or at all for that matter.

You have zero clue about how Ferrari operates with Domenicali as team principal.

This place is disgusting, fans of the sport should be celebrating how awesome and fun has been watching Fernando this year, no matter if you are a fan or if you don't like his personality, instead we have a lot of topic to trash him and people talking nonsense for the sake of it. When there is so much hate toward someone, it's a clear sign that he has done something vey important this year.

Massa was also quite fast in China and Bahrain, so you can't even say it was the first third of the season that he was awful. Even the first half of Malaysia was okay before he lost so much time towards the end.

It's funny how many in this thread try to degrade Felipe & Ferrari.

They dont actually need any help doing that - Felipe must have a bad back by now, bending over for em so much....

Felipe's interview yesterday during a Brazilian TV show:

(...) at a certain moment, wondered: "am I still of any use for this?" Started to think, study, and to work more my head who had by then already gone into space. Thus, I started coming back for previous ways I've had, that I've worked, and was back doing what did in any categories up to Formule 1"

^^^I like this part. Great story. Good luck, Massa.

TBH, i never knew Felipe baby had a thread of his own, i don't remember seeing it in the first page of 'racing coment', all talks of Felipe seems to be either Alonso vs felipe or ferrari or Alonso's own thread ...

anyway, a superb last quarter of the season, he showed his pace, but still he has a lot to prove to hold on to that 2nd ferrari seat ... cause Hulkenberg is poise to take it soon. Lets see what happens in 2013

It's funny how many in this thread try to degrade Felipe & Ferrari. They are quick to remember the past 4 or 5 races but slow to remember the previous 15 races or even last year. The point of the comments are to obviously degrade Ferrari because a quick look back through the thread shows none were giving words of encouragement when things were only going poorly. In other words, you're exposed for what you are.

Me personally, I'm a Ferrari guy, regardless of the driver although I will admit I've grown fond of Fernando over the past few years. But people must remember ths is a team. I don't see whining about Mark moving over for Seb, yet it brought up in both the Felie & Fernano forums. Par for the course.

I hope Felipe can maintain th momentum and come into 2013 as strong. Ferrari could ten properly mount a WCC challenge. As for this year, unfortunately Felipe was a day late & a dollar short. It's blatantly obvious why Ferrari broke the seal on his gearbox in Austin. He could help the one Ferrari driver who had a chance.

If Felipe can start 2013 off strong and compete with his teammate he will be in a very good position in the team. One that won't sacrifice his result for the good of the team. But this year it was too late. While spectacular that he regained his form it was of little use to winning the Championship which is exactly why what happened in Austin took place to begin with.

I hope Felipe can start of 2013 strong and continue for the rest of the season. He is no chump and still has pace, it's up to him to prove it once again. If this happens there won't be any team orders until it gets to the point of deciding the Championship which may or may not require either Scuderia Ferrari driver moving over for the other. Forza Felipe!

Nice article about Massa.

Got me thinking about what would happen next year if Felipe got very strong start and Fernando struggled early (say getting near the newly re-signed Grosjean too often). Would it be like 2008 where he was allowed to go for the WDC or would Alonso influence still give him favored status within the team?

Alonso has more influence over the team than any Ferrari driver I've seen (yes, even Michael). It's shocking to me how they parrot his "bad car" lines and are frequently apologizing publicly for not giving him a better car. Very unusual for a company that sells expensive cars, especially when the Ferrari was actually quite good on Sundays.

Because their car is not good enough that's all.

I doubt that Fernando has the same aura that Michael brought to Ferrari.

If the car is to Massas liking the other driver can also be quite fast. If not, Massa is nowhere. In the end Ferrari only got 2nd because they also needed Massa. Massa struggling most season does not mean the car was that slow, as Alonso showed.
