It's not that clear that there are countries where he can't go in. Most countries who deny automatic visas to people with criminal records have alternative longer bureaucratic possibilities for those cases.
AMuS reports the countries were some problems might arise are China, the US and Canada, with Canada being the one that could be most difficult to deal with, which doesn't mean he wouldn't become the visa at the end.
