Legends never die, they live on through their memories.
Michael is a legend.
Agreed. We don't see Muhammad Ali in public anymore. Even if we never see Michael in public again he's still a legend. My wish is that he recovers enough that he and his family can enjoy life together again.

Not far from being gone then. At some point they will need to make the decision to remove them, or place them out of view, and continue with a small tribute each year as Williams (I think) still do with Senna. That will be a sad day. It's still there: 1508553_10152707113637411_4083004452828107574_n.jpg (31.03.: zoom in to the suspension)

Do any drivers still carry that sticker on their helmets? I seem to recall Massa/Vettel having them at some point.

Not that I can recall. Most seem to have removed the Forza Jules decals as well actually. F1 has to move forward.Do any drivers still carry that sticker on their helmets? I seem to recall Massa/Vettel having them at some point.

The Manor-Marussias still feature the #JB17 hashtag on the side of the airbox, just below the T-camera.
Posted 12 May 2015 - 21:13
I think we will see him at a GP again.
I love your post. Never give up hoping. Miracles have happened before, even as far as eight years after a brain injury. As it is, to know him being in this state and to think that he has to live his life out that way, is unforgiving.
Kuddos to Mick Schumacher - it is amazing to see the young Schumacher doing what he does.

I think the Senna S on the Williams is different, #KeepFightingMichael is a hashtag for Twitter showing support while his recovery was in the public eye.
The Senna mention on the Williams car is because of what happened in a Williams in 1994 and it will likely remain on the Williams car until the Williams team is no more.

They could put MS's signatory emblem on the car, that'd be nice

That would be brand infringement. Not going to happen I think.
Posted 13 May 2015 - 12:41
It would be wrong to add his emblem, Schumacher is alive. So the Merc doesn't need a lasting memory on their car. Have #KeepingFightingMichael or nothing.

I'm sure they could use his emblem, I'd be very surprised if Mercedes and Schumacher's management would fail to reach a very friendly agreement on using it way before it got into any sort of brand infringement scenario. Schumacher is after all a Mercedes brand Ambassador.

Slight glimmer of hope? the line " he is aware that the watch has been completed " . From Sabine Khem talking about a special edition Audemars Piguet watch

Now that is a very tacky stupid way to promote the watch on.
Posted 21 May 2015 - 11:30
It's probably just them trying to bring some money in, I don't think it means anything. We can't really know anything about how Michael is which is sad, but that's how they want it and that's how it should be.

One would think the people interested in a $229,500 watch won't make their decision based on a couple of paragraphs by Kehm, but perhaps they will!
I'm still disappointed about the way this whole situation is handled, but it is what it is.

"We can't say anything about his condition at the request of his family and their privacy and we ask everyone to respect that"
Yes we respect that.
"Oh by the way. Michael is showing signs of improvement because he is aware this nice new watch that has been made now is ready"
...
Anyway, fingers crossed for him and his family. Less fingers crossed for his management aka Sabine Kehm.

Yes a bit odd that the first thing he is officially "aware " of since his accident is a new watch.

"Michael has made a lot of progress, considering the gravity of his injuries. But it's also certain that he'll need much more time to recover".

I do like hearing good news, no matter how small it is.
Always think of the man, he was such a part of my childhood. My best wishes are always with him and his family.

My best wishes to him. I really think he can pull this off. Small steps is still steps towards recovery.

I think the Senna S is there for 2 reaons, 1 Ayrton died in a Williams, 2 it publicises the senna foundation which is a charitable organisation.
It wouldn't really mean anything putting Schumachers personal business logo on the car.

I was a Mika man back in the day, but damn how I really miss the wily old codger. Or even the thought that he was out there somewhere in the world tonight living it up and enjoying his life and his family.
Come on Michael.
Come on Jules.

Gina Marie Schumacher took the Junior European Reining title this weekend. I just hope Michael can know about the achievements of his children.
edited to add that the pictures definitely show that she's her father's daughter

Good to see his children would make him proud as well.

He might be having small improvements in his condition, but over time these improvements add up to the point that one day, he may be able to get up and go to a Grand Prix!
Keep Fighting Michael!

There has been some talk in the European media at the weekend that Schumy has finally regained some use of his speech, how true that is literally only a handful of people really know
The family are taking legal action regarding these stories.

^ So the Telegraph report on the details of the speculation, because of course they are reporting on the case of privacy and not Schueys condition at all, whereas the publications who published the speculation in the first place, go to court. Good old media circus.
