Yes Felix is a good driver and fast... but can someone please explain to me why he is trying to set the record for longest F3 career?

He has been driving F3 since 2010? This is his 5th year in a F3.

He should be moving up to at least GP3 of maybe even WSR3.5 some time ago.

Dunno about Jake Dennis, he had a decent weekend but feel that was more to being consistent and benefitting from at least 3 drivers that normally will be in front of him having a bad weekend. But I give him credit for taking it when he can.  He might just need more time to adjust, that does not mean he is worse.

He has no money, nothing else he can do.

He should contact Ericcson sponsors, if they can spend that much money on a Swedish kid without any resent decent results then they can surely can get this kid into GP2 to replace Ericsson soon. He only missed the first few races I am sure a spot will open fast..

If he has no money why does he keeps paying for a F3 seat? Move on and go earn so money in a GT category or something.

I'm really impressed by Ocon, he wasn't that good in FR2.0 but now he is mega. It will be a nice battle with Verstappen, Ocon, Auer, Blomqvist and Fuoco although he hasn't performed well this weekend.

It is quite difficult to read performance from Ocon in 2.0.

He was the most consistant guy of the field in Eurocup, 0 retirements and worst place was 14th. He was hampered by the lack of pace from ART car in Red Bull Ring and Spa.

Then back in September last year, Gravity sent him at Imola to test with Prema to compare him with Kirchofer and Ed Jones. He blittzed both of them in his first outing in an f3.

He most likely expected to win the championship this year after finishing 2nd last year, if he wins the championship he's more likely to attract sponsors and I'm sure he'd rather stay in single-seaters if there's a chance.

Easier said than done, Marcus' sponsors are most likely family or friends. Just because he's Swedish doesn't mean they'll sponsor him.

Maybe he should try the DTM route. Not easy but not impossible either.

Cause if he keeps this up the FIA should considering hiring him as the F3 driver bench mark.. anybody above Rosenqvist in F3 championship may move on to higher division, everybody below needs to do another year or just quit. :rotfl:

Ocon was very lucky to not get a penalty for his silly moves where he ruined rosenqvist's race in race 2 and max's in race 3.

I mean, if that was gp3 or gp2 it's 100% he would get penalty for that...

And also it's interesting how his car was not damaged in those contacts, very lucky guy...

His car was damaged, arguably cost him the victory in race 2.

Well it is hard too judge but some beleive Ocon already had problem/ damage in race 2 before. Rosenqvist.

Ocon himself indeed said he already had sustained damage:

well if we look to the stewarding on this series it is not the worst manouver that we saw this year.

verstappen has not been punished at hockenheim for ruining latifi race.

neither we saw penalty for incidents at silverstone .

i think that they are giving them a break on these subjects as they unexperienced and there is rarely enough malice on these actions.

TBH I do think there is a big difference between the incident if the causing driver can just continu (or atleast appears relatively unharmed) or if he is also eliminated.

Like you mentioned, the Verstappen made a mistake in Hockenheim but he eliminated himself also. A double punishment should never be needed, but if you can drive off and your opponent gets eliminated you almost get rewarded and that should be discouraged as early on as possible.

Guess he needs to learn maybe more how to handle the mechanics ffrom the car, maybe he is asking too much from certain parts, or his team is less good in setting it up that it takes a heavier load.

But so far I must say I am impressed with Ocon for being so steadily fast, not having a weak moment so far. Very mature driving from him.

Max: "The type of clutch is free for the teams to choose, and we're gonna check how to fix this for the next race"

He had a broken clutch from lap 2 onwards, but he didn't really loose pace compared to Ocon and Blomqvist, so his setup was pretty good this morning.

Qualy in 25 minutes.

Ocon is clearing off the field right now.

Fuoco is nowhere near the pace of Ocon with the same car.

7th straight Top 2 finish for Ocon.

This pace is just unsustainable in terms of results.

Any opinions on Michele Beretta and Eurointernational?

Is it the car, or the team that's lacking in performance? (or both)...Just curious, as I'm wondering what to expect when Santino Ferrucci joins the championship next round.

I'm thinking it's a driver issue, as Tom Blomqvist put up some solid results with them last year: http://en.wikipedia....27_championship

Agree with Prost1997T, Santino will beat him from the get-go. He looked fantastic in pre-season tests.

I'd give him a race weekend or so, then I think he'll start to come good.

Don't get me wrong, he won't be at the front but I think he can handle that jump; especially with the added track time from running in German F3 too.

Esteban Ocon and Gustavo Menezes (Star Mazda mid-packer turned German F3 race winner) lead the first two qualification sessions at Spa. Verstappen continues to show front-running pace. Ocon has the pole for the third race as well.

Wouldn't be a surprise if he wins the title several races early, and gets double duty in FR3.5 this season (at the expense of Vaxiviere).

Yes Ocon and Verstappen are real stars of this year.

Ocon could go away with 109 points over Blomqvist.

This thing could be pretty much done by this week-end.

You've gotta love Spa. Even F3 races races there are exciting!

Verstappen has certainly got the speed, but I think that chop on Auer in the first race was a bit much myself. Showed Ocon a clean pair of heels in the second though. And who lit a fire under Menezes all of a sudden? Even Calderon looked like she knew what she was doing today, putting in a few good passes and fifth place (her best ever.

Van Amersfoort car were very very good on this track and low downforce .

So Ocon in Race 2 was the only one to follow these cars at Spa.

Then again it is not up to Ocon to take risks now.

Clear pair of heels is only 8 tenths of a second in the whole race. Constant gap.

It is not the way like Ocon blitzed the field in Hungary.

Great race again at Spa. Max was outstanding, especially at the start and L2 or L3, when he overtook Bryant-Meisner and Ocon both in one move on the outside. That was superb to watch.

Max had the speed in S2, but Ocon could always stay in touch in the slipstream in S1 and S3. At one point he moved ahead on the straight, but Max repassed him straightaway.

One dirty move from Ocon when he tried to wheelbang Max at the end of the Kemmel straight, for which he also got a warning.

Also nice racing down the field. Loved it.
