This Frenchman's name came up at dinner the other night. A kiwi fellow who went to the UK in 1961 to seek his fortune ended up as a mechanic at the Jim Russell Racing Driver's School at Snetterton.

 

He told us how this fellow offered the chance to be his personal mechanic and to travel around Europe - that would have been enough of an attraction for a start but then he added 'He always seemed to surrounded by girls - I didn't think he was particularly serious so I turned him down.'

 

I've googled Jacques Maglia and found a wee bit stuff on TNF and other websites - in 2009 he was living in Greece - but I wondered if anyone had anything else. He is shown as being in a JRRDS Lotus 22 in '62 but is generally entered under his own name in 1963.
