Is the Buick Avista pretty much just a Camaro without he ugly front end?

Closer to an Aston Martin I'd say? Hell of a looker IMO.

Scrolling through the Buick Avista page I saw the heading "Turbocharged performance" and out of the corner of my eye saw a list topped with "8.0 ", and I was immediately excited for an outrageous turbocharged 8 litre. Unfortunately that was a 3.0, with an 8-speed box. Granted it makes far more practical sense, but still.

Nice looking car. Someone seems to have kept the styling team in check. ("Busy" styling is one of my pet hates.)

Remains to be seen if there is any production intent. GM is working hard to control model count and brand discipline.

In yesterdays Oz media it was announced as the new Holden Monaro.
Since the car is a concept I disbelieve that!
I think it is quite attractive though. Personally not a fan of turbo engines.
Will a LS fit?
All the 'bling' on the console brings back memories,, HK Monaro with the tach mounted on the console!

Styling team? It looks like a hash up of Aston Martin, BMW and Tesla. No original ideas really, although it is quite pretty, if rather anonymous.

9 of 10 times original ideas are ugly, that's why they are original. It's not that they haven't been drawn before but that they have and weren't worth the effort. Concept cars from any moment in time too often have a sameness that is rather bland and uninteresting considering that they are supposed to be exciting and experimental. You know the drill, right now it's swoopy creases everywhere, stupid low profile tires and the timeless go to, total lack of any ground clearance or suspension travel. Stupid isn't beauty.

I could live with one of those.
Hmm, on second thought, I wonder how it would handle my dirt road ...

More importantly can what the manufacturers call a family car handle your dirt road?
Many struggle to do so.

Looks like a two-door Ford Fusion.
If the Avista goes into production, it would be cool for it to be GM's NASCAR entry, but that probably doesn't fit GM's marketing plan.

i would agree too. dont know if that's a trend. not really unique in design but you can still say its pretty nice in terms of aesthetic
