Looks a bit like a Borgward Isabella.

But not quite, It is not a coupe and I thought all the saloons were 4 door, it also looks as though it is somewhere in the USA but the car is RHD and if it was a Concessionaire import it would surely be LHD

Addendum I have just Googled the Isabella and all the photos show a 2 door vehicle. Now I'm thoroughly confused, i drove one in period and I'm convinced it was a four door as at the time I was comparing it with the family FIAT 1900B

The car is in Stockton, California, 1955. An elegant gentleman's carriage that looks very modern for the period.
The steering wheel is on the Brit side. Is it leading the Jags or about to be lapped?

Does anybody have the programme?

Could it be a Fiat 1400.  The general lines are right but the radiator grille is larger than normal.

Not likely D type, see my post above. The FIAT 1400 shared a body shell with the 1900

From the Bulletin Board in Post #8 (Many thanks to Patrick Buchanan and all):

On March 20, 1955, experienced California race driver Jack Flaherty entered the novice class at the Stockton Road Races using only the name "Flaherty" and driving 212 Inter Ghia Coupe s/n 0189 EL. Once the race was underway, Flaherty dropped all pretension of being a novice and proceeded to push the Ferrari around the course according to his skill level. Of course it wasn't long before the jig was up and Flaherty was disqualified for "concealing professionalism."

Funny thing, here I am browsing TNF in search of information to help solve another mystery car puzzle, when I stumble upon this quote of my post from F-Chat. Glad I could be of help, gentlemen!
