Suddenly found large amount of flickering and the top banner and toolbar flickering as if something is trying to load in last day or so.

 

And occasionally get whiffs of some sound.

 

Think it is ad related, but means typing is a little haphazard.

 

I use Chrome on Win 10

Am I right in thinking you're based in the UK? Could you send me a screenshot of the adverts on the site the next time this happens? Even if there's nothing odd about the way the adverts look, it could help us identify where these have been coming from.

Window in Chrome has the refresh circle in top left corner going?

 

UK based yes.

 

As I say, typing gets slow and very occasional brief blip of sound

Also UK based. Also Chrome. Forum is sending my browser into melt down and eventually I have to close the site due to my laptop getting too warm. I can see the status icon constantly flickering as if it's reloading something in the background.

 

Latest version of Chrome and on Mac OS 10.12.4

Damn. This is one of the problem ads we thought had been solved - it looks like it's come back through a different ad network!
