This is a bit OT but I spotted this today: https://www.bloomber...-to-boost-value
If they're looking to offload those two, what hope Ferrari? Hopefully one or both will return to F1.

Some kind of return to F1 from Alfa has been mooted in the auto press for years. If Alfa is spun off from FIAT, I guess that makes the return more likely if it continues to receive the investment it needs to compete.
There's something quite unusual about the manufacturer support of F1 where of the four manufacturers, only two of them (Renault and Honda) are even remotely in competition with each other in the auto market. Mind you, such a setup might be more stable than a zero-sum game involving direct market competitors (Audi-BMW-Merc; Ferrari-Porsche; Honda-Toyota-Renault-VW).

They don't need to be competing with each other on the track for them to use their F1 prowess in their marketing.
Mercedes and Ferrari can still use F1 to sell their road cars by saying they have more racing pedigree than their competitors even if they never directly competed against Porsche, Audi, BMW, etc...

Ferrari is already an autonomous entity after its flotation, isn't it? VAG has been hunting for Alfa Romeo for ages, IIRC, while Maserati should have been kept linked to Ferrari, as approx. 10 years ago.
Sad to see the Italian-American giant in such a state. They have all ingredients in house to do what VAG have been doing for 20-30 years. Except money, maybe.

On the PM news last night on Radio 4 they said that a company called "Great Wall Motors" was in the hunt to acquire Fiat-Chrysler.
EDIT: Added link to news media.

I read that Great Wall is interested in Chrysler's Jeep division only.
