The front end of the Lister LMP-900 was really quite ahead of it’s time aerodynamically.

Probably not a shock given my user name and avatar, but +1 from me.

Also, this-

Can't express how much I love everything about that car, especially the sound.

And for an oddball group C option, the Lola T92-

Fun fact- The LMR, the Lola, and the 333 all sound and look better than every single top level racing vehicle out there today. Progress :drunk:

Oh, let's not forget the longtail 333 that appeared at LM in '99. I miss the days of long tail aero kits.

While its subsequent evolutions got all the glory, I can't help thinking that of all of them the original design was the most beautiful...

It's too bad the Epsilon Euskadi ee1 never got a proper livery to go along with its rather nice shape:

‘99 at Le Mans was a pretty good looking grid, all things considered. That R8C, the Toyota, the Bimmer, the longtail Ferrari, the sinister DAMS Lola, the CLR... good times.

1999 Mercedes CLR and Lancias LC2 are my personal favourite.

That said, I always found Bob Tullius Group 44 liveries really very beautiful, sleek and sexy, from the Triumph TR4/TR8, through MGs to the Jaguars.

Never seen a 936 in Coupe format. Seems to have been a stop gap to race at LeMans in 82 under Group C regulations?

It a damn site better looking than the Spyder version.

From memory... were Dome not involved in the earlier GTP Toyota efforts? I seem to recall them having a sulk when they weren't invited to be involved in the LMP1 comeback?

What? No one mentioned AC Cobra yet?

Also, I like the classics, but IMO some of the sports cars of today look better than pretty much anything built before. Like the 488 GTE for example:

Here's another oddball, the BRM P351-

Probably the slowest and least successful car of any mentioned thus far, but it was a looker.

I loved that car too. Still sad the throttle cable broke while they were leading at Silverstone. Their R&S was a looker as well-

The Sebring version of the R8R was much nicer looking than the LM car. There's a strong theme to my preferences, most of them are '99-'00. No coincidence that Sebring '99 was my first endurance race I attended in person :p

Ended up as a spider with a Nissan (I think?) in place of the Weslake. Remained slow.

Does the fact that it was disqualified rule it out of contention in this thread? If you think so, change your mind you brute!

One does not need to play by the rules to be beautiful. I always wanted that car for my Scalextric as a kid.

Anything from the 60's and 70's has got to be considered, just before aero started to take over and ruin the looks. My Fav has to be Lola T70 MK3B

Just for sumthing different to pics, here my vid from last years Donington Historic meeting and the 1000km race featuring T70 Mk3b's, GT40's, Chevron B8 & B19, BMW CSL's and others.

So many great looking cars  to choose from but my favourites are:

Panoz LMP1 GTR

Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo Group 5

And the BMW 3.0CSL

Come to think of it... being born in 1970 all my pics have something menacing about them...

Not to be a pedant, but they called that the LMP1 Roadster S. The Esperante GTR was the closed top predecessor, the LMP07 was the massively disappointing successor.

Absolutely agree. By far the prettiest Jag with the nicest livery.

And while we're being controversial, I never understood the love for the Lancia Lc2 or the Ferrari 333. Ewww!
