The Racing Sports Cars site doesn't seem to be opening for me.  Is there a problem ?

On Waterfox, I'm getting an 'insecure website' warning for an invalid security certificate.

https://www.racingsportscars.com/

Unable to communicate securely with peer: requested domain name does not match the server's certificate.

Similar message on Chrome.

Could be hacked, or just wrongly configured.

Same for me, yesterday there was a Proxy error, today a warning about it being an insecure site.

RSC still seems to function properly in Internet Explorer.

There is a workaround in Chrome.

Ctrl+Shift+N will open an 'incognito' browsing window and that opens RSC for me,

Others' feedback welcome.

Neither Internet Explorer, nor Ctrl+Shift+N in Google Chrome does the trick for me. Looks like a serious problem.

I emailed Martin and he said to change HTTPS to HTTP but this just resets and gives the security error message (IE11)

Has it now been fixed? I was getting the insecure website message earlier, but just now when I went to try Rob’s http tip the site loaded without problem.

ETA: Just tried it again and got the security warning back again. :well:

Yep, just using www.racingsportcars.com works fine for me using Firerfox. Make yourself a new bookmark with that.

That address now leads to a shoddy-looking 'Domain Name brokerage'.

You have typed in "www.racingsportcars.com", not "www.racingsportscars.com".

Possibly, Rob; though I thought I'd copied the link rather than typing it.
I'll try it again - thanks.

I refer to that site quite often, so I, for one, would miss it!

That doesn't work for me either way and I use Firefox.

I have been using Firefox and later Chrome on my Mac laptop to access the site for years with no problems, but then this past weekend it would not load and instead presented a security warning.  It was a bookmarked link, spelled correctly, but that did not matter.  I then tried the Safari browser on the same computer and I was immediately connected. I am not smart enough to figure out why...

That url is working for me with Firefox, and the site passes the Google Safe Browsing test:

From Martin Krejci of Racing Sports Cars:

"The problem is caused but automatic browsers feature to redirect HTTP websites to HTTPS protocol - once the HTTPS protocol was active. This redirect needs to be removed from the browser.

The RSC website was run a few days over a HTTPS protocols, due to some browsers (Firefox at least) showed warning messages when logged in RSC. But HTTPS caused decrease of advertising revenue by 95%, so it was needed to get it to HTTP. Now the websites automatically redirects to HTTP. But who opened it via HTTPS during that few day now needs to reset the browsers setting, or use a different browser or remove that redirect for www.racingsportscars.com domain.

For example for Chrome it can be done this way:

Open this link:

At the bottom of the page there is: Delete domain security policies

write in: www.racingsportscars.com

and press Delete"

I'm trying to copy and paste a link where it says "Open this link" but it doesn't seem to be working.  Can anyone help?

Well, I think the problem was caused by the website and so Martin should solve that problem. I am no computer whizzard and have no time to do all this Chrome-HtTPs, HTTP, with or without protocol(s), with or without space(s), and "delete security policies" -stuff, etc, etc, :well:

There is a life beyond www.racingsportscars.com....

I have Opera as my default browser. Works fine. I have just tried accessing the site with the latest IE, Chrome and Firefox. All working.

I would suggest those who still have issues - Delete browsing history to a date prior to when the website played up, then cut and paste  http://www.racingsportscars.com direct into your top address bar of whatever browser you use. This will put the correct address back into your browsing history memory.

Cheers Steve

I cannot do anything about the stupid behaviour of most of the browsers, however I found a general solution for all of them described here:

https://soeithelp.st...rowser-Settings

The visit rates are still down from the situation before so I suppose many people still have problem setting their browsers correctly.
