Hi, any people in here who have visited the Sochi gp?

I still have my fan id and thought about attending the gp. Any tips, is it easy to get from Sochi city center to the racetrack etc??

The tickets seem really cheap, the flights to there from where i live seem like some extensive planning is needed.

And also is it allowed to photograph (and take a dslr to the race)

I have not been able to go to races for few years and before my only experience was in Monza where it was allowed.

I'd be amazed if photography were not permitted, I've been to many races and never heard of it being disallowed.

Yes seems like it is permitted. They replied confirming it. Bought tickets now, hope to see a good race !

There also seems to be a car museum quite close to the track, will try to visit that one aswell.

Back from Russia now. Fun experience, the organizing was well...

Lets just say Monza gp in places seemed organized compared to this.

Pros : Really cheap tickets, easy access to track by train, good view to track, loads of snackboots etc

Cons : Seems like pretty much no one speaks english, really hard to get answer if you need to ask something? Athmosphere was really dull, especially after the teamorder. The misdirections some of the staff gives you, like pointing to wrong stands direction etc. :D

But overall, seeing f1 live is fun, and this was a new experience. I was at T3 and loved it. I think the track looks fine and you can find many nice views to the track, for really low price. I just think the organisers need to work a bit harder to make sure international guests feel atleast somewhat welcome.

Oh and wow have the prices of the merchandise gone up since i last went to a gp :D :D Just could not bring myself to buy a MSC replica hat for about 60€... Just way, way too expensive. The foodstands and drinks were really cheap though.

But if you feel adventurous, can recommend Sochi. Just stay in Sochi, not in Adler. There really is not much to do in Adler but Sochi seems really nice.

лучше всего изучать язык страны, в которую вы собираетесь.

Just saying.

Yeah that is true but you can not learn them all. Currently i speak fluently two languages and enough to manage on two others. Already the different letters make it very hard.

But either way, here is few photos i took during the grandprix. For some reason the quality drops quite a bit after upload, not sure why.
