F1 fight to the end with a champion that's not called Lewis. And races where it's possible to overtake so hopefully the new aero does something.

MotoGP a really big fight between Marques and Lorenzo where somebody else is going away with the championship.

Verstappen world champ in last race

Raikkonen on the podium (at least) once

New tyre supplier announced

Rain during an F1 race

Robert Wickens to make a speedy, full recovery and maybe even be back in the car by the end of the season.

A long awaited positive development in Michael Schumacher's story.

Jorge Lorenzo to give Marquez a shock and put up a real fight against him.

Verstappen to rise up to title contention in F1.

M-Sport to be on the start ramp at the Monte, and strong.

Less difference between top teams and midfield teams, in other words closer racing and more different drivers and teams on the podiums.

Brendon Hartley to get the Ferrari reserve/sim role, then Vettel to slip on a banana skin the week before Melbourne.

WEC:

- at least one or two of the major rumoured programmes for the new LMP1 class to officially materialize, if at least for the second season of the new rule set.

F1:

- rookies making a positive name for themselves

- Ferrari's gamble on Leclerc paying off as handsomely as it can

- regular podiums for more than the top 3 teams

- a Ricciardo shoey even after his Renault move

- championship decided at the last race with a clean on-track battle

IMSA:

- Penske, CORE and Joest grabbing fair shares of wins against Formula Cadillac

- Zanardi's BMW winning its class at Daytona

Indycar:

- Robert Wickens recovering enough to get back into the cockpit, if poetic justice were to work - the recovery happening in time for Pocono next year

- Pagenaud or Bourdais claiming the Indy 500, at this year's 500 I was literally the only one in that grandstand section cheering for them in the driver intros

- over-winter aero updates to enable better racing on the superspeedways

- 17 races => at least 8 different winners

- a good enough performance at the 500 by Alonso to convince him and McLaren to go full-time in 2020

Random others:

- the usual excitement for the Bathurst 12 Hour and Nurburgring 24h

- less major championships becoming foregone conclusions by July

- breakthrough season somewhere (not W Series) for any promising female driver

- Formula E to keep to its upward trend and convert at least some of its current detractors

Personal note - since in 2019 I will be planning my 2020 trips, the calendar announcements to fall together well enough so I can correctly plan trips to the 2020 Nurburgring 24h and to a MotoGP race during 2020 (most likely Brno).

F1:

- Resurgence of McLaren. And Williams.

- Commitment to end 'two-tier' F1

- Close, entertaining battles at the front (and not just in the middle)

- End of pay tv deals

- Cheaper race tickets

- All rookies to challenge status quo

- Efforts to equalise power unit performance

- Nobody gets hurt

Bottas turfed out of Merc ASAP

Alonso wins the Indy 500

Croft quits F1 commentating and bogs off to Darts/Football/insert some other crap sport

Halo dropped for 2020

Hybrid engines dropped for 2020, back to V10s

Codemasters to hire Geoff Crammond and FINALLY make a good F1 game (Thanks JeePee, I almost missed that one)

-Vandoorne wins multiple Formule E races or ends up on the podium (it is a new team after all) and proves many people wrong.

-Neuville finally winning the Rally championship.

-Ferrari and Mercedes and Red Bull fighting a very tight battle for the F1 pilot title.

-That all you people can enjoy all the racing you like and are in good health.

Formula 3 sorted out as a single coherent formula, with the same cars racing in the F1 support, European and UK series, and drivers meeting in "one offs" in Monaco, Pau and Macau.

The Mazda Multimatic DPI to win a race for once! I friggin work on the car so it would be nice to finally have tears of joy for a change!

A new face as F1 WDC and for the Honda powerplant to be a contender.

Rossi & Suzuki to win a few races while Aprillia and Ktm gets more of a sniff if the podium.

A spectacular 3-way fight for the title until the last race between Lewis Seb and Charles. An increasingly impressive Charles in the 2nd half of the season wins it.

Occasional Red Bull wins to mix it up.

Gasly is quick on occasion and can actually fight Max.

Renault makes a massive step up, is pretty close to Red Bull and they get a 1-2 in a chaotic wet race.

The new aero changes are brilliant and finally sort out close racing in the corners, to the point they start reducing DRS zones.

Pirelli for once nails the tyres and we see more driving near the limit, with interesting tyre strategies mixing up the race at the same time.

Russell and Norris have great rookie seasons.

Kubica is back at his best and shines a lot too.

Prema Powerteam and ART Grand Prix both announce they're joining F1 in 2020 as fully independent new teams.

Nobody gets hurt in any major motorsport series.

Wickens recovers to regain full control of his legs.

One of Tanak or Neuville wins the WRC, rising on the occasion on the final rally to beat Ogier.

Lorenzo is unexpectedly every bit as good as Marquez at Honda and we get a epic team-mate 1 on 1 championship battle.

Miguel Oliveira has a great rookie season and seals promotion to a top manufacturer ride.

F1: No titles for Mercedes team and/or drivers because of being beaten on merit. I have preferences for who does if but settle with it being done by whoever is in the position to achieve it.

Indycar: Marco winning the golden anniversary of his granddad's victory.

WEC:  that it survives the current Alonso&Toyota showcase.

In general: no serious injuries or worse to anyone......

I would like to have a very competitive season with 3 drivers fighting for the title until the last race and then Ferrari winning

or,

a so-so season with Ferrari winning the title

or even

a completely boring season and (guess what) with Ferrari winning the title

What do people think is so wrong with Codemasters' F1 games?! They're pretty good from where I'm sitting.

Going wildly off topic here but I can only speak for myself and that is although the game is getting slightly better, in some respects its just very poor indeed and even after eight versions of the game (F1 2010-2017) the game STILL lacks features found in F1 games from over 20 years ago and it's still very simplistic and arcadey in some respects, even with the 'aids' turned off.   It's quite staggering that after eight versions in eight years it still lacks some very basic things like mechanical failures, you'll never DNF in this game, heck even if you run out of fuel the car splutters around the track at 60mph forever, which is ludicrious.

I could go on about it's problems but I won't.

Leclerc to hit the ground running with Ferrari in the same vein as Hamilton (07) and Villeneuve (96) and rock the establishment. Want him taking on Hamilton & Vettel for the World Championship.

An epic rivalry with some real flashpoints between Marquez and Lorenzo in MotoGP would be a real treat. I love the big, spiteful rivalries between strong, opposing characters and racers. I'd love Rossi back in there too but that may be asking for too much now.

And a cheeky one - Renault to head north with Ricciardo and Red Bull stumble with Honda. Only for the pure entertainment value it would provide with Max Verstappen threatening to quit Red Bull and destroying Honda publicly. He'd make Alonso look timid 😂
