Perhaps CSAI, in fact? Commissione Sportiva (Automobilistica) Italiana? Not unusual for drivers or teams to enter their own cars under the name of a motoring club, or the national sporting authority.

If the chassis info in the relevant Black Book is correct, whenever Farina raced a 4CLT/48 during 1949 it was the same car, chassis 1602. This was variously entered by ‘CSI’, Dr G Farina, Scuderia Ambrosiana and Scuderia Milano.

The second edition of the Black Book says that Farina’s car at the 1949 Belgian Grand Prix was entered by himself. I found no mention of CSI. The Maserati chassis numbers and their entrants were checked corrected and added to by Adam Ferrington who knows more about these cars than most of us.
