Bonjour y'all. The seasonal quiz is up on the main page and I have to say that I am digging it's modern facelift. Go ahead and try it out.

 

I got 39/50. My objective was to get at least 40, so that's disappointing. 2018 was very disappointing for me in Motorsport terms so an apt result for my general end-of-'18 Racing season mood.

 

What about you guys and gals? What's your score?

I'm assuming my score will be slightly better than the multiple choice average will be. A monkey would average 12 1/2. Let's see how much better than that I can do.

Glad to see I'm in good company with my score hitting random guessing, essentially. I scored 15. While 12.5 would be the random guessing score if all were 4 answer multiple choice, there were a good number of 2 answer and 3 answer questions with only very few with more than 4 answers. On balance, I think 15 is random guessing. 

 

And, I was genuinely guessing on practically all questions. LOL!

I gave up after eight questions, mostly about stats I don't care about, and after I answered two questions accidently spacing over to the next question. You all are better than I.

Yeah this was a nice activity in a slow day and I do like stats, but perhaps one thing to keep in mind for future editions is more interesting bits of trivia as questions, and less "did driver X in semi-obscure series Y get 37 or 43 points"

Indeed, some things might be a nice tease towards paying. Stuff like this just makes me go "nah - too cheap. Cannot be bothered".

20/50, and am frankly embarrassed at having done that well considering the only motorsport I watched this year was Indycar.

Basically, lots of very lucky guesses combined with a couple of helpful piss easy questions about Indy 500s from the early 1970s.

Considering all but one of the articles currently loading on the main screen on autosport.com (so far as it fits on my monitor, anyway) are about F1 - this quiz really went out of Autosports normal coverage and into obscure territory to find questions.

 

I got 21 right, through lots of lucky guesses. I think to be honest I only knew like 8 or so outright. Not infrequently none of the names meant anything to me.

 

I'm a bit peeved I didn't know the Super Formula question, as I've semi-followed it in recent times.

 

I guess it just goes to show there's a ton of racing going on that doesn't get the coverage it (perhaps) deserves.
