What are the dates for this 60th celebration - at Mallala and at The Bend?
Nothing obvious on either locations website calendar

I just realised that it is 10 years since the static at the Adelaide Showgrounds. Which I attended. How time flies!
And 35+ years since Garrie died.

A lovely Spring Day yesterday at Mallala.
From what I saw no real incidents and some good racing in most categories.
I ran into all the usual suspects from this site. Even Kevin Bartlett who I believe is the patron of the meeting.
For those wanting to follow the meeting use 'Natsoft race results' and you will get the results as they happen.
Anyway time for me to go back out there after sleeping in!

Hmmm the leaves are falling off the trees. You must be right!
Again quite a good day out there, warm between the sheds but brisk on the mounds.
No real dramas, a few cars towed back but most came out again next time.
A decent lineup of classic road cars for the lunchtime drive.
A s/c hemi dragster doing a fire up regularly.
And a display of classic speedway midgets and T/Qs/F500 cars from SAVSA.

John Webb, "The Manager", the man who's hands produced the most beautiful shapes in Australian Motor Racing left us peacefully last night. He was all set to join the celebrations trackside at Mallala this Saturday just gone, but fate intervened Friday afternoon when he suffered a stroke and was transferred to the RAH where he was kept comfortable til the end. There are a few tears being shed all over the world right now for a great, great family man and an absolute stalwart of the Elfin marque. Besides being surrounded by family, both Mal Ramsay and I were able to hold his hand on Monday and bid him safe travels as he got ready to head to that big Elfin Factory in the sky.

Nice tribute James.
My condolences to John's family and friends..
When you told me about John (as we loitered around the Elfin Heritage Centre) Wednesday night, I mentioned John racing an Morris 850 in early Mallala meetings. But I owe you an apology as I was getting my Webbs mixed up. It was Neville Webb, who raced the 850.

RIP John Webb.
There was a lot of quality product come out of Elfin. And it all looked good and was functional and [comparitivly] simple
