But something like this did happen once in the past. I forgot if it was in '70 or '71 but one year there was an endurance race at an American track, (Watkins Glen??) in which the then current endurance cars ran, thus Porsche 917K's among them. Then the following day there was a Can-Am event and since that was for cars with the only restriction being powered by an engine of at least 2.5 liters, several of the 917's that had been raced the day before competed in the Can-Am event and a few of those did quite well
1971.

Shame they've had to start under yellow, it's always fun to see driver's going at it in the rain. But FE last weekend through to qualifying was a great display of drivers just getting on with it in the wet, so I've had my fix of that recently.
And of course safety must be considered. Some of the green flag wet running at Daytona was insane, I wouldn't want a repeat of that today.

IMSA really isn't getting lucky with the weather at the moment is it? First Daytona, now this...

The #71 has an absolutely horrendous livery. Yet... it's hard not to like.

I tented at the track when I went in 2010.
Today is one of those days where I'm happy to be sitting home in the dry.

No, Europe.
I got to see the WEC on Eurosport because they have a contract for those races, but obviously not for IMSA....
But the stream link works! Thanks ANF!!!!

Quite odd how some are really struggling with these conditions.

Action Express cars over a minute and a quarter ahead of everyone else... they've really got the cars well setup for these conditions!
