Toyota has been secretly upgrading Köln for an F1 re-entry in 2021. Out of respect for Påven Andersson and the success of the Finnish approach to the Rally re-entry the core of the new F1 team will be Swedish. Somehow they decided to hired me as TP.

Naturally, this is the F1 seat that Alonso already has hinted at.

Felix Rosenqvist will make his F1 debut alongside him and Marcus Ericsson, while retaining his Indy Car seat, will have the 3rd driver role.

Hamilton to do the business and hoover up a load of points.

Plus a rotating driver lineup of interest throughout the season including Rene Rast, Jamie Chadwick, Andre Lotterer, Alexander Rossi, Fernando Alonso etc.

Hamilton - Verstappen would be the ultimate combination, but I like the "experienced team leader - promising youngster" combination as a start, so maybe I'd choose Hamilton-Shwartzman atm and let Max strengthen the competition. :D

If I was a TP I would never take Hamilton/Verstappen, just asking for a disaster.

I would take one of them (probably Max due age) and another driver to collect the points and to be there if my first driver has a bad year (Ricciardo).

Carlos Sainz & Lando Norris

Good morning Zak.

Mika Hakkinen and Martin Brundle

Hello Ron.

Verstappen and Ricciardo

Nice to see you here Christian.

----------------------------------------------

Jokes aside, I think I've got three answers depending on what part of my grid my team is on.

If I was in charge of a top team, I think I'd have Hamilton and Ricciardo.

If I was in the midfield, I'd want to copy the current McLaren lineup, or for variety's sake, I'd have Perez and Russell for a similar effect.

If I was a backmarker I'd take whoever I could get really, but I'd always have a seat open for Alonso if he really wanted that F1 comeback.

I wouldn't dare pair Versteppen or Leclerc with anyone who would possibly upset them, including each other. I'd not want that sort of disharmony in my team.

Verstappen and Norris. Max is the #1 for the next 10 years. They are mates, are Both super young and Lando is certainly good enough to get loads of points for the team.

If you do that, everyone vaguely related with the teams that have Hamilton and/or Vettel under contract will be grateful to you for having taken these two drivers out of the contest. Signing these two within the same team is saying bye bye to every chance on the titles.

I don't give my team but be sure about one thing, No way ever that I will sign up two men from the quartet of Hamilton, Vettel, Leclerc and Verstappen. One of this 4 is the very maximum I would go for. I'm not that stupid to hire two of them and make it easier for the remaining two. Only if Toto and the team that Vettel will be driving for is willing to sign me up as their new team member after I'm fired by the team that I saddled up with these two egos and the results of that.

Without a doubt, Hamilton and Danny Ric.

Hamilton still just shades Max as a number 1, and Ricciardo is an easy going number 1 that almost, but not quite fits number 2 role. But won't cause WW3 in a team battle but will also pick up the pieces if Hamilton has an off year.

Verstappen and Ricciardo.

They were the perfect pairing. Both quite young with plenty of years ahead of them, they generally seemed to get on and they complimented each other beautifully. Max was a tenth or two faster, and being primed to become the new superstar, but Ricciardo so damn solid, such a good racer and always there to mop up any results that present themselves. Like Perez with more speed and less red mist. For my money THE perfect pairing and Red Bull quite possibly realise that now....

Hamilton is coming up 35, Alonso is coming up 39 and a year removed - both all-time greats but I'd have VES/RIC.

If I have to race in 2020., I would pick Hulk who is without contract and Colton Herta as promising rookie.

Hamilton and Ric. Hamilton will have the measure of Dan over a season but Dan is fast enough and Good enough wheel to wheel to make it interesting.

Hamilton-Verstappen would be the ultimate combination but also a recipe for disaster, as probably Verstappen-Leclerc would be.

So my vote goes to Verstappen-Ricciardo: in terms of pace not much between them, they fight but still get along without undue politics and if one messes up the other will be there to pick up the points.

As a team principal, you would want to have the two feistiest drivers clashing with each other all year long, probably costing you the WDC?

I was quite vocal against ferrari and merc the last few years, but after vettel leclerc I can totally understand it from a business perspective. That would be quite the scene though.

On the grid based on current form: Hamilton and Sainz.

On the grid assuming they'd be and remain at their peaks for a while: Hamilton and Raikkonen

All time: Senna and Hakkinen

For nothing but comedic value: Alonso and Mansell at Ferrari

All time battle of the number 2s: Irvine and Fisichella.

I would hire LH and MV and sell the rights to Netflix ..... imagine if they had done this when Rosberg was there - the documentary would be epic!

Depends very much on what your expectancies are.

Top team: Hamilton + Bottas (oh, wait, it already exists and it's the best team in History of F1, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it). I wouldn't want two star drivers, thanks.

Midfield team: two solid and experienced drivers: PĂ©rez + Sainz

Backmarker: hungry young driver + reasonably good paydriver: Russell (or Norris) + Ericsson

If I were a team principal, I would go for the two best drivers. If that brings potential friction, so be it. My job would be to organise and manage the team to minimize it. No way would I take a lesser driver in order to avoid conflict.

Hamilton and Verstappen, please. If either won't sign, then I'd dig old Alonso out of his "retirement".

If you were a real team principal and you had huge pressure for winning championships (and a hefty bonus at the stake!), may be you'd think differently. Not to speak about the financial drain that two primadonna salaries would mean for your team.

There was a time both McLaren and Williams tried to get the two best drivers they could. Coincidentally, those were their most successful times.

Yeah, but in both cases they had dominant cars which made things easier and anyway, in both cases one of the drivers had to ultimately leave the team because the internal tensions were unbearable. Then, both reverted to classic 1st driver & 2nd driver lineups.

Verstappen and Bottas.

For number 1 it is between Verstappen and Hamilton but I'm going with Verstappen as a long-term prospect, hopefully to lock him up for most of the next decade.

Then for number 2 I don't think there's anyone more proven than Bottas ATM. Ricciardo was already paired with Verstappen and ran away. Leclerc and Vettel don't work that well together. Perez might have been an interesting choice but he has always been a bit lacking in qualifying permormance which limits the options he can help a number 1 driver. I'll go with Bottas as he has proven he is good enough to help to secure WCC while not making any troubles when there's need for some team work.

Hamilton - Alonso, from the current grid. Hamitlon - Vettel or Hamilton - Max
