It's that time of the week again, as Formula1.com have opened the public vote for the classic race to be broadcast next Wednesday evening.

The losing candidates from last time are retained, and joined by the 1994 Japanese Grand Prix, a race bearing one clear similarity with the 1996 Spanish Grand Prix.

Which one would you like to see, and why?

Gotta be Japan 1994. I watched it a few weeks ago but would definitely watch again. Full of drama. Also, the infamous Brundle/Caterpillar moment, which was somehow caught on video.

Needing that Mansell-mania.

Edit: and when trying to scroll down on the F1 vote page I accidentally selected Japan 94. Oh well. Can’t complain about Damon’s greatest drive.

Who needs Mansell-mania when you can have Hill-hysteria (or pan-Damon-ium)?

I’d vote Suzuka ‘94 but it was already replayed on Sky quite recently so Australia ‘99 please.

Went for Silverstone again. Wouldn't mind seeing the Suzuka race though, the discussion about it in the other thread was pretty interesting.

I'm beginning to question how many votes PayasYouRace has in F1.com's polls.

Judging from the comments in the youtube video, it seems F1 will show something from before the hybrid era this weekend. Probably something from the EBD era.

Double points for hearing Murray telling us about “Williams’ unique anhedral rear wing”!

Here's my opinion: the Lotus was the most beautiful car that year.

That at least 4 teams had copied going by that spotters guide.

Spotter's guide:

I do love your guides but including the drivers would be a great help. Especially for 1994, when there were only two races in the entire season with the same set of drivers, and Japan wasn't one of them.

I see you have included the low nose version of the Pacific car (which was only used for the last 3 races). Excellent attention to detail!  :)

I think the Simtek was really pretty too.

Sorry to blot your excellent attention to detail copybook!

Benetton didn't have Renault power in 94, it was the V8 Ford Zetec.

When in doubt trust the photo!

I also like the graceful way the tip of the McLaren's airbox/rollhoop curves forward slightly. Some beautiful silhouettes all round. Perhaps a sign of things to come that the ugliest car (Pacific aside) was also the most effective!

The Minardi team appears to be sponsored by a porno mag and bees.

Argh! I don't know how that happened. I even remember thinking "Ford" as I added the photo. :drunk:

Are we sure it’s not just one sponsor, a porno mag aimed at the bee market?

Whatever they are it's a brilliant case study in the inverse law of F1 sponsorship stickers. The poorer the team the more sponsor names appear on the car.

On an earlier shot over the start/finish line there was quite a visible oil slick just off the racing line. Surprised the commentary team didn't pick up on it. I'd imagine that was contributing to the cars spinning on the pit straight.

In the season review there is extra footage which shows that Inoue came very close to aquaplaning straight into Katayama.

Nearly crashing with Johnny Herbert (?) on foot on his way over the pit wall.
