Michigan TV broadcasts have a particular rhythm, don't they. Lead change - retirement - interview - retirement - interview - lead change - retirement - interview etc.

And I've also wondered what kind of race Unser, Jr. would have had at Indy in 1995 if he'd qualified.
From Jack Arute's comments just now, sounds like Al thought he had a really good chance. Given what the race was like, if he'd had half decent race pace he could've won.

could say the same thing for IndyCar We need more manufacturers.ie: tires, engines and chassis
Tyres are difficult because no one wants to do the tens of thousands of testing miles necessary. Chassis are difficult because no one wants to rent the windtunnel for days.
I'm sure Roger Penske would love a couple more engine manufacturers though.

I always find it so fascinating when you get a race like this and see just how on the edge of (un)reliability the cars are in order to chase every bit of performance.

Parker takes a perverse joy in describing all the times he nearly killed someone today! Lost an upright and nearly spun into Cheever, lost the brakes and nearly ran into the Penske pit crew...
