I hope that there isn't already a thread, I couldn't find it. Only a week after Le Mans a 24 hour race on the Green Hell and qualifying already started. Not an expert so I can't make a presentation, but I love the track and the mix of GT3, TCR and other cars there make it exciting.

Anyone else watching?

Ai I will be, the #911 Manthey 'Grello' has been withdrawn due to positive Covid tests which I'm a bit miffed about but apart from that it's all good.

Can't wait.

Do you root for someone? Based on habit pre-race I was going to cheer for the Audis, but now I like also very much the Porsches and I am torn. I also like the Glickenhaus (spelling?) concept although how they go from 20-something in GT3 to LM hypercar next year I dunno.

I am also interested in the TCR class in there.  :)

There's a live stream at https://www.24h-rennen.de/live/
I just tuned in and saw the aftermath of a hard crash for #2 in the barrier at Schwedenkreuz. Yelmer Buurman at the wheel apparently. Edit: Nürburgring have reported that he is okay, according to Paul Truswell.

Oh, and here's the English RLM Youtube stream (feat. Paul Truswell):

Glad trussers is on there, he's not been too well recently, missed him at Le Mans this year.

No Hindy though as he's doing IMSA duties.

The trackside coverage of NLS/VLN is basically limited to the GP circuit, so I usually follow one of the onboard streams and have the main stream on in the background for commentary. But transmitting live video around the Nordscheliefe seems easier said than done. Even the few streams that run smoothly will always cut out on the glorious run between Bergwerk and the Steilstrecke.

Weather forecast for the weekend not looking good for any kind of overnight running, looks cold and wet (which might mean overnight fog) from today all the way to Wednesday. :/

First time in about 10 years that we're not going to the track. We'll have to settle for a weekend of beer, livestream, simracing and hopefully a cheeky go-kart session. Perhaps a generator soundtrack to take us back to N24 campsite moods is in order as well.

Was really looking forward to these two weekends but the first hour of Le Mans killed any hopes I had for Porsche and all the drivers pulling out of Nürburgring before it’s even started is just a disaster. Not to mention no Bamthor at IMSA either. Absolutely sucks. Still rooting for Porsche, especially the Bamber, Bernhard, Bergmeister car but can’t really see them winning. Hope to see the Rowe BMW’s and the Land Audi go well.

I'm watching the first F4 race at youtube.com/adac and the Yokohama S seems much more suitable for single-seater overtaking than the Mercedes Arena.

And here comes a shower with four minutes to go...

I would love to have my front deck done so I can watch the night portion outside with a bonfire in the background!

Don't forget a few rumbling generators, they're absolutely vital for the full experience.  :)

Wow, 0.2 between first and second and 0.4 between first and third. On such a long track, very close between Merc and Audi.

To be honest, we rarely even knew who was leading the race while at the track. As long as cars kept growling by, the Manta wiggled it's tail and our bellies were filled with beer we were content.

Ooh, the proper pole shootout is turning into a tire gamble. Mix of slicks, inters and full wets on the 17 cars waiting to go out...

Sorry for posting here like a spammer, but the race starts in less than two hours and judging from F4, conditions are torrid.

Loving it

If the Grand-Prix Stecke is *this* wet, I can't imagine what it will be like on the Nordschelife with 97 cars...
