An odd year given the state the world is in but if anywhere is close to normal its australia where daily covid cases are about a dozen nation wide.

The quality of the field is super high, some recent retirees like Lowndes and Tander add massive depth to the co-driver ranks. Championship is wrapped up so no issues there, scotty can race.

Any of the top dozen cars can win on merit, let's see how it plays out

It was pushed to a later start (why I have no ****ing idea) then they saw storms in the forecast and brought it fwd so i think 11am is correct. Why they moved it from a 10am start I have no idea. None.

6.5 hrs depending on safety cars. It is a HORRIBLE time for Europe, north america it's an 8pm EST start, not bad for me.

Watch races on youtube if you've not seen one before. I am a purist so feel the 2013 race was the best ever (no safety car for the last 4.5 hours and they finished half a second apart at the end but that's purist racing. 2014 was more the race for entertainment value.

It's a super competitive field this year the way the drivers have been distributed, the top 10 to 15 cars are quality, it's a small field but there are genuine winners very deep into the grid. In an age of continued nerfing of engine sounds with hybrids and turbo chargers, these small block naturally aspirated V8's make a superb noise.

Just like the sim racing games, grip VANISHES on the outside line of the cutting. On paper its the fastest line but for some reason the wall just sucks you in.

A shame as I reakon they were the big threat to 17, without them, its scottys race.

Whincup clutches defeat from victory yet again at Bathurst.

Operator error yet again.

Though the car really was not on the outright pace anyway.

Yes, yes it was on the pace in clear air. They have been top 2 all week, caught out by rain in shootout.

Yellow flag viewing...... I'm neville.

I had zero issue with his driving until he jinked to cover the cars coming after he reentered. Before that, he did nothing wrong, held a line, never swerved.

Oh yeah - had no issue with his defending. Just looked like it was going to end in tears, as I could see Chas potentially getting frustrated and trying to force the issue. Yes the re-entry was a bit sketchy though

The Giz is on it

I heard one of the Triple 8 drivers (can't remember which one) yesterday say they had setup the car with one eye on the forecast for the race. So may explain why SVG has pace at the moment

Scott really driving like a pro. Twice he decided against really high risk moves, car isbfast and not a scratch on it and 100 laps to go, wise man.

You had brekkie? If not make yourself an aussie egg and bacon.

Soft bun (not sweet), bacon (both rash and loin), egg, cooked onions, sweet not smokey bbq sauce.

Kostecki is perfecting that 'outbraking himself at the chase and then flooring it across the grass before rejoining' move.

Mind you he's had a bit of practice
