The greatest driver of all times, well deserved Lewis Hamilton!
We knew back in 2007 that he had the talent and the speed but this?
What a ledged!
PS: Of all 92, your favourite one?
To me Silverstone 2008.

He's not my favorite driver. I dislike his antics. But he is the best there is. Period.
No. He was lucky to get into F1 just as it became 99.99% about the car.

Close this bloody thread mods. I will end up like the last one. Just show your appreciation in the team thread

The best make it look easy and that has never been more evident in F1.

Germany 2018. I was there, and we had the mother of all storms as the race ended. It was an amazing day.

Hooray! Let's not have a thread for number 93.
We could rename the thread to "Lewis Hamilton 92 wins and beyond".....

How long until this thread gets shut down? Hahaha
It will end the same way as all the rest!
Meanwhile congratulations to Hamilton, he's going to need a warehouse for all the trophies !

Lewis is a great driver but individual stats and records in F1 mean next to nothing.

Yeah. He will likely run away with this and next year's titles, taking him to 110-120 wins. But he only has Bottas to beat. His stats are going to end up wildly inflated.

Sure, Lewis isn't bad, but he's only winning because of the car.

He was a phenomenon from the moment he made his F1 debut. Today he's an absolute legend.
Hats off Lewis.

This was my thought as well! Haha
There will be one at 100, that's for sure!

Agreed, just like it was (to a smaller extent perhaps) with all the previous record holders

Awesome stuff. The scary thing is I can see him winning another 30 more races if he stays for at least 3 more years. He is far from done.

All depends what Merc do. He needs to new team mate to keep him honest.
I think he’ll make 110 wins anyways.

An amazing achievement, fantastic success, yet just the latest installment in an unbelievable story.
Such a great guy, great racer, great stuff.
92.
Well done Lew.

Yeah, Schumacher's win stats are inflated for me as well. He enjoyed unparalleled domination, and Mercedes have taken to a new level. But Hamilton deserves credit for making the move to the team in the first place - a masterstroke.

He’s now won the same amount of races as Prost + Senna added together.
2 more than Alonso, Mansell and Stewart combined
1 more than Senna, Clark and Lauda added together
And only about 9 races behind winning more than the rest of the current grid combined. Though that’ll be made trickier next year when Alonso returns. (Only 4 races away from winning 3x Alonsos stats)

Absolutely pathetic considering Schumacher won some of his WDC and alot of wins with a car that had Traction control, automatic gearbox and launch control hardly think it suddenly become all about the car as Hamilton came into F1. Lol.
Congrats to Lewis Hamilton. One of the best of all time.

Congratulations to Hamilton. The mentality to get better and better is impressive. Mentally he is super strong.
Surely one of the greatest ever.
Sadly this thread again is starting about Mercedes. Can't we for once let this go?
Why for once can we not congratulate him on this remarkable achievement no matter what?
It is a great achievement and deserves to be celebrated.

I am happy Lewis has the record for the most wins. I have always liked him and his success is enjoyable and deserved. The better someone is the easier it seems. I also have a distinct appreciation for the irony of a black outspoken activist driver with intense off-track social and business commitments to dominate F1 (out of all sports) to the point he does. I remember when people asked if he was distracted by the things he did besides F1, that question has long been answered.
It's just a pity his success will coincide with F1's least exciting days ever.

Congratulations! I feel very lucky to have watched his F1 career.
One for the greatest racers and sportsman this world has ever seen.
Keep it going!!

It's a fact that without Mercedes this would never have happened. What's sad about that?

Nobody wants to separate his success from his team(s).Him the most.
Bliman meant something else but you already know this dont you...

<runs away>
No need to run, such topics do tend to come along with a big heap of bitterness (to an almost embarrassing extent from some). It's true, stats are just stats, they do require some context. We don't need the number of victories to tell us how good Hamilton is, or number of championships.

I know you both mean that in a spiteful way given your past behaviour with regards Hamilton, but the same is true for any driver. It's a team sport. As a driver you want the right team to want you. You get in the right team, and you win. Not all manage to win even when in the 'right' team. Hamilton has, lots.
#47
Posted 25 October 2020 - 15:38

Because that is always the case with records. There is still a driver behind the wheel and he has teammates too.
A thread that can be positive will always be dragged down. And for what? to discuss that Mercedes has a great car. Just be happy for once without all the this and that. Because if this is the way then you can argue every win every driver every record, everything.

To the casual fans this is seriously a bad situation.
Whover it would be at front it is pretty horrible when we already have a "standard winner". Like the guy is expected to win every time apart from some outside factors.
This is even more dominating than MSC era.
Lewis will go easily over 100 if he continues. Might even go to #1 with "just" his Mercedes wins. Sadly most of his wins in later years will be blurred together since he seems to "win everything".
Even if there are gems like Germany 2018 there.

I tried to post this 92 times but apparently that's against forum rules...
...so x92
Nothing else to say really ... I am pretty sure I have watched all 92 of the wins
....Thanks LH, for the enjoyable Sundays.
And thanks to you guys ... I think I have double screened most of the wins with the folks on this forum.
