Entry lists: https://acm.mc/en/ed.../event/engages/
Some historic grand prix drivers: Jean Alesi, René Arnoux, Jean-Denis Delétraz, Alex Caffi.

There's also a stream on the ACM Media channel (identical to the Goodwood Road & Racing one):

Oops, Alex Caffi just crashed into another car at Sainte Dévote. Maybe he was expecting 1980s downforce... Unless something broke.

There is a driver in that category called MISTER JOHN OF B (all caps)

Mysterious! Nigerian Prince perhaps?

Although was listed under a French flag... 🤔

Eiffeland!

Redesigned by Luigi Colani, who also did things like this:

Poggenpohl presents 'experiment 70'- a bubble kitchen by Luigi Colani, which provides a futuristic impression of the year 2000.

The flat I was living in, in London in 2000 had a kitchen about this size - so he wasn't far off

As BRG’s link says, the real name of ‘Mister John of B’ is Jean-Rémy Guittard, who is President and CEO of the French chemicals and plastics group Gazechim, based in Béziers, France. Hence he also sometimes races under the pseudonym ‘Jean de Béziers’, which translates as ‘John from Béziers’. He has many other business interests, and an enormous collection of interesting old cars.

The Sky YouTube channel will be showing the races today.  I don't know when they start.  Eurosport has them too,but only on their player.

Looks like the fountain is still there, but hidden by being lower than concrete. They pedestrianised it, which is good, but the execution... meh.

Why is every change even vaguely related to motorsports battled against so hard?

What a great battle for the lead in the 70s F1 race.

Hall gave it everything but still managed to keep it clean which isn't easy at Monaco.

Its quite the change after the grass and flower beds being there for so long. I'm guessing it's better though for when there are no events on.

I'm glad that they didn't decide to re-profile the corner whilst they were doing it.

Yeah a few times into Rascasse I was wincing a bit as they were so close to interlocking wheels. But at the same time, it is a fantastic spectacle to see these cars getting driven in the manner they were designed for!

Indeed.

Its bad enough watching the antics at the FE race yesterday - those things aren't cheap, but these machines are in another world.

Imagine they straightened the road through Casino Square...flat out from Ste Devote to Mirabeau...

Racing cars are like caged animals: they deserve to live free. Racing is the reason why they were created in the first place. Listen to Alesi having a 'moment' that cannot be had anymore, also known as a missed gearchange (at 1:24)...

Racing without fuel/battery saving, with tyres that last the distance.  Make the most of it before the FIA put the boot in.

Exactly. On one hand it'd make for a heckuva run through that area, but at the same time it takes out some of the challenge.

I'm guessing that any works like this that occur directly on the circuit do give considerations to modifying the layout. To which seemingly 99% of the time are left as just proposals.

And it looks like the practicalities of the changes are what has made for this change - road cars now go 'off circuit' cutting across what was once grass. The circuit portion is now a car park/valet area / port cochere type area for the hotel.

Problem is so many of these are being raced by people who would struggle at Club level, so the wince factor is high.
