Tyrrell for the simplicity versus succes. Williams might also be considered. British independency strikes me.
Ferrari for being the racers race car, for at least as long as Enzo was alive. Pre-Fiat Alfa Romeo will be considerated. BRM might also count in this context?
McLaren for Bruces' headsight of professionalism, and for Ron Dennis folliwing up. Brabham will be a number two of the down-under entries.
Lotus for Colin Chapman beeig a genious in car design and sponsorship and hiring Jim Clark.
Ligier for beeing French blue with Guy Ligier hiring Jacques Laffite. Any Talbot-Lago T26-privateer-type will be considered!
Any team hiring Lella Lombardi as a driver on her merits alone..
Jim Hall and the Chaparral-name, and ad Roger Penske, for an American attack on Formula One, Hall being the ingeneer and Penske the ultimate professional.
Red Bull for Helmut Marko being a no-nonsense person.
1930's Auto Union and Mercedes-Benz for an all out attack by some of the greatest engineers on the planet.
..I'd like to add Nissan, because, unlike Toyota and Honda, they still have to leave F1 with promisses unfolfilled. Mazda mayby!
Jesper
Rob Walker. The top privateer with close ties to a manufacturer and a Stirling driver.

My favourite grid is 3-2-3.
On a bit of a side note, if you look at the 2021 grid, but use the various teams' original guises, you get quite an interesting, classic-sounding grid, especially if you use the old numbering system:
1 + 2 Petronas Tyrrell Mercedes
3 + 4 Red Bull Stewart Honda
5 + 6 DELL McLaren Mercedes
7 + 8 Sofina Williams Mercedes
9 + 10 Castrol Toleman Alpine
11 + 12 Scuderia Ferrari
14 + 15 Cognizant Jordan Aston Martin
16 + 17 Orlen Sauber Alfa Romeo
18 + 19 AlphaTauri Minardi Honda
20 + 21 Haas CMD Dallara Ferrari

Just chanced on this thread and would like to offer a suggestion; based on the visual appeal of the cars, rather than the selection of drivers (although it was a very strong field with great strength in depth) I'll take 1975. The cars were readily distinguishable from each other if they were all painted white (something that one has been unable to say about F1 for many a year) and the liveries were some of the best ever (headline sponsors and chassis):
- Texaco-Marlboro McLaren M23
- Elf Tyrrell 007
- JPS Lotus 72E
- Martini Brabham BT44B
- Beta & Lavazza March 751
- Ferrari 312T
- Stanley-BRM P201 (err...)
- UOP Shadow DN5
- Matchbox Surtees TS16
- Fina Williams FW04
- Embassy Hill GH1
- Hesketh 308
- HB Ensign N175
- Firestone Parnelli VPJ5
- First National City Penske PC1
- Copersucar Fittipaldi FD02
and a few randoms like the Citizen Maki F101C (err again), the Pinch Lyncar 006 etc, and you have a very eclectic (and largely very pretty) grid.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be...

My favourite grid is 4-3-4. That sorts the -------- out into the first corner.

The year when I was first able to drive my own car to a circuit was very special , so 1975 will do very nicely . Gorgeous looking cars , big grids and bold liveries , thanks to the amount of cigarette money. But it was peak "Formula DFV ", and aural treats were in short supply , with only three teams not using a DFV. So my own peak grid will be 1989. I loved the insanity of the ur turbo F1 cars , and they often sounded decent , but the aural overload as I heard my first ever V10s was unforgettable. And even they were surpassed by the hysterical shriek of the Ferraris in Berger and Mansell's hands - sopranos in a choir of tenors. I was in heaven . And in the era of 20 car grids we endure now , 30 cars in qualifying and another 13 attempting to do so . Happy days .

Yikes!!!!! I was not aware that I was supposed to have a "favorite grid." Once again, apparently I did not get the memo...

It would work for ovals as well.
Mix 'N' Match eras, whatever.
