I do think it is the case. The car will all look a alike the
FIAFOM model. How bring, pity for the millions.

They specified livery reveal on Twitter, it'll just be a generic render with the new livery.

Would be very funny if it's the same livery as last year on a showcar
I'm not expecting much more to be honest.

Well we know the livery will be something along the lines of HAAS in big letters and Russian flags draped all over it. But still, they might surprise.

Would be even funnier if they just show the previous year's car (again) . I remember Alpine did this not too long ago.

The Enstone team and other teams sometimes use an old car for the physical launch, and publish a 3d render of the new car at the same time.
This year, the FOM has 'mass' produced a physical showcar that has been mass purchased by teams, sponsors, circuits...
So teams might definitely use that FOM showcar for their launch, instead of a 1 or 3 years old car...
I hope they'll atleast show a render of their actual car, not the 3d render the FOM also provided...
Since 2018 atleast, HAAS always published a 3d render of their new car.

Gene Haas has once said he liked the Jordan and Minardi yellow liveries. Would be something if yellow returns on the grid.

Yes I remember when he entered into F1 he said he wanted a bright, unique livery and did certainly mention yellow.Gene Haas has once said he liked the Jordan and Minardi yellow liveries. Would be something if yellow returns on the grid.
Then when he launched it was grey, white and red...
Edit: I found the quote.
“We would love to have a car in line with the company’s image. But it needs to be good, too, because all these cars in silver or grey appear almost identical to each other. I would like a colour that makes us distinguishable. I do like yellow.”

I swear they searched for the dullest shade of grey possible too.

Indeed. Out of the 50 shades they could have used, theirs seems to suck out any visual soul. I was not a fan of the 2017 car.

It's a proper car( even if the base design).

Haas has become the first team to unveil its 2022 car. Digital renders only, but an interesting first impression of what effects the rule changes have had. Can this be the car that restores the team to the midfield, and will it be representative of the other teams' designs?

Very thick sidepods
Yeah! But different from previous gen cars at least...

From our dear Gary A
"If you look at where the pushrod meets the chassis, it doesn’t seem to enter the chassis, it seems to be just leaning against it. So it’s possible Haas might not want to give away the real Ferrari design in this area until Ferrari releases it."

Side pods are HUGE and the openings are SMALL.
What's the design thinking behind this?
#36
Posted 04 February 2022 - 11:12
seems like it has a double floor concept to energise the venturis / separate the inlets from the venturis as much as possible? The sidepods are really high and forward.
I think we're going to see something horrendously wacky like the Ferrari F310

So no change in the paint job then .... it was cool last year - sticking up a couple of fingers to the Russiaphobes .... but it could do with some freshening up.

Maybe they could ad a Ukranian flag to it somewhere...

So that's pretty much a copy of the FIA car? I can see small differences, sure, but surely this isn't actually THE car

#47
Posted 04 February 2022 - 11:16
That closed off front wing as well seems to be like its meant to cause a vortex with the front wing to energise the venturi hm
So essentially dirty air will still be an issue lol
#48
Posted 04 February 2022 - 11:16
As predicted these reveals are almost useless. The only relevant changes compared to the show car are the inlets and the air box.
Also the rules are much more strict in terms of aero.

The sidepods and the nose are completely different. I don't know what level of differences you'd expect, obviously the general shape is going to be similar.
