That means it'll have the pink

Yes blue, red and pink can work and give a nice (and modern) livery IMO.
It will obviously depend on the designers work. But Sean Bull said it will be the best livery again. And I think we can trust him.
*actually, he's implying a neo-retro look

Meanwhile, it makes me think of this

I quite liked Alpine's livery and hated the BWT ones (an unpopular opinion, I believe) so yeah I'm with you on this one.

Sean Bull (the designer) can literally do nothing wrong. So I think it will be great actually.

Yet, as Alburaq proved, a blue and pink livery could become good if one really thinks it through. And I quite like the one from Auto Hebdo as well.
Edit: and I think ARTGP nailed it; Sean Bull doesn't do messy designs. So I hope his influence is still there.

Ok, BWT is in the bag as title sponsor. Good. When will they announce Otmar?

Absolutely just hope he is given free rein with it. He can make some cracking liveries.

The should go full Pink.

The people from Castrol were mad because its sponsor's colors were not shown prominently on the car last year. I wonder what the reaction would be with its colors covered in pink?

Castrol green with Alpine blue was terrible imho:

If Alonso ends up with a pink helmet I'll be going to have a word with him myself.

I suppose we will find out soon enough if Rossi is Inspector Clouseau or not.

The Castrol green in the livery was only introduced at Djeddah onwards as a token of respect. So if there is a newsitem Ive missed on BP being disgruntled that their brand of Castrol wasnt shown prominently enough on the car, then I would like to read that item. Otherwise I think it isnt any issue.

Castrol was not unhappy because of the colours but because of the switch from Renault to Alpine.
Hence why we saw the "Renault recommands Castrol" on the rearwing endplate at the last two races.

SO BP put in more cash than the title sponsir BWT and just get a couple of decals and no corporate colours? How does that work?

Probably gives a clue that covering an F1 car in your name and corporate colours isn't necessarily where the value in sponsorship is these days.

The designer might not be able to do anything wrong, client or stakeholder input definitely can and often will ("my logo needs to be bigger, I want more pink at this super illogical position on the car"). It's the bane of every designers life.
One of the most important skills of a designer/agency is actually talking the clients out of their horrendous suggestions, but often there's too much ego involved and corporate design turns out looking sh*t.

Official Renault workshops put Castrol lubricants into your Renault roadcar instead of Elf since 2020. They not just collaborate in F1.

Castrol green with Alpine blue was terrible imho:
I’d say the opposite. I found Alpine to have the worst (boring) livery in 2021. The Castries colours at the back improved it.
Still sad to lose the black and yellow of Renault for the dull blue of Alpine.

Posted 12 February 2022 - 05:01
The blue of Alpine? Which one? the car reflected 99 different blues, depending on the lighting and the sky, and most of them looked nice, unlike the AM green livery that only looked beautiful in studio.

Only thing I’m worried about is Alonso going to have to go pink with his helmet? Surely….not right? Ocon has done it before, and his helmets aren’t iconic anyway, so not important.
Hamilton's helmet was always purple or yellow, regardless of the car. Perhaps what he gets to do is a matter of contract details.

Yeah but BWT is particularly insistent on pushing their colour everywhere they can.

An Alpine F1 team truck has been spotted somewhere, with a new 'A' logo/livery, and the logo has a vintage neo/retro style.
What if the car is pink at the front half, with a black rear end, with this logo on the black part ?
You know what? since Sean Bull mentioned 'Vapourware', I want this livery to have this esthetic

I think it would be more interesting if they didn't try to go for a solid stripes look.
I saw a photo of an LMP2 car from Nielsen Racing which I thought was an interesting concept for how you can mesh blue and some other color:
Some of the detail like the random grey bits is a bit off to my eye, but I like it generally speaking.
For fun I tried color changing the red to pink and it was absolutely hideous so I won't post that

I quite like dark blue with lighter pink accents. It definitely can work, just a matter of getting the right shades so they complement each other.

At this moment, what I'm the most concerned about, is the power and reliability of the PU.
Talking of livery, despite 2021 livery being lovely, I didn't like the design and color combination of the Alpine logo specially the Red colour. If I had to guess, I would say the Red colour needs to be gone to make the addition of the Pink colour, work.
IMO traditional Alpine logo is much more beautiful and elegant...

Power first, reliability a distant second. Mercedes have already shown that making an engine last 7 or 8 races is not optimal strategy anyway.
