"How long to complete a lap?

 

"The answer is 88 years. Here is a photo of my 1931 Austin Ulster TT on the Donaghadee circuit last week where the County Down Trophy was held in 1934. David Yule from Dublin rolled the car on this the first right hand corner on his first practice lap badly damaging the car and hospitalising himself. The circuit is still there on public roads though widened in places..."

88 years?  I imagine that, going by those criteria, there may be quite a few that are still out on their lap  - and who knows when or if they will ever complete them?

In modern times a specific lap of this F3 race should be the slowest one by a wide margin.

Here’s a possible contender for the slowest non-stop lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Walter Röhrl drove this Porsche Junior tractor there in 2013, lapping in 1hr 5min 36sec. He said it was the only vehicle he’d ever taken flat out through the Karussell.

Slowest lap in a World Championship Grand Prix, that would have to been achieved during the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix.

 

Race red flagged on lap 25 due to heavy rain, restarted after a break for the scheduled remaining laps. Official time clock still ran during break period.

 

Slowest lap 25 was achieved by Nick Heidfeld (Renault R31) with time of 2 hr 05m  07.547s.

 

Canada 2011  took 4hr 04m 39.537s to complete

Walter did say that he had a policy of never wearing a helmet in (or on) anything that couldn’t get round the Ring in under eight minutes.
