Previous race reaction:

Now on to Suzuka where talk will most certainly be centred around the thrilling fight for the world championship and not of any financial regulations.

Watch out for turn one…

Cute Verstappen moment (shh to the haterz):

8639-FD2-E-9-A3-F-408-B-BCA2-27-B6326-C9

Kudos to him for succeeding where his father failed in bringing success to Honda.

There will be hats. Crazy Japanese hats:

I've no idea why anyone thought it was 'Mikey' anyway, to be honest.

Suzuka is and will always be the spiritual home (if that’s a thing) of F1 title deciders.

Be fitting if Verstappen can wrap it up this weekend. Nobody cares about the final few races anyway. It’s October, f1 should be finished in October!

Random Suzuka moment that sticks in my memory 24 years later… remember watching this in the middle of the night.

Sad way for Tyrrell to end. Goodyears last f1 race too!

Just as a headsup, this overlaps with the last couple of hours of the Bathurst 1000, which is almost always the best part of the Great Race™ - and is predicted to be a wet race this year too.

I will likely have Bathurst on the telly and the F1 on the laptop - kids are gonna love me

Judging by its movement, it looks like this system will hit Suzuka at around 63 minutes into the GP, with moderate to severe intensity, and will last approximately 47 minutes.

Did I see news like this re: COTA this year, or did I dream that?

ETA: Never mind. I see you answered my question a couple of posts down. At least there's that.

Track action is going to be sparse enough as it is, with the only support 'racing' likely coming from the Masters Historics. The W Series is rumored to have bad enough money problems that they might cancel Austin and Mexico. Gonna be a LOT of downtime for the USGP weekend.

Anywho, Suzuka.. One of F1's last realms of true sporting enthousiasts with an open mind and love for the sport in general. Always love it when Suzuka peeps around the corner, but somehow usually there is not the best racing going on over there.

I wonder who will get the honor of the (seemingly) mandatory recreation of the "Degner Photo" this year. That shot of Rosberg is still epic.

Degner was probably the last great corner in F1 not to be sanitised like that - sad times.

Weather wise, its looking like a Friday washout, dry Saturday, and cold/gusty Sunday with sporadic rain about during the race window.

It could be quite an unpredictable weekend.

Have you seen the track already?

Never the less, this track was drafted by the same man who drafted the Zandvoort. Hope this Dutch gentle man is still alive, and if Max wind here, would be quad celebration, Dutch, Honda, RedBull and John Hugenholtz.

John Hugenholtz hasnt been alive to see Schumachers second championship. He died in the early months of 1995.

I am already thinking now if it's worth to gamble on a late start and get some extra sleep!

I am watching it live on DVR, have the Staten Island Half Marathon to take care of first, luckily no-one in my immediate social circle have any interest in F1, so can run and meet all of them without fearing a blurped out result.

I will be soooooo pissed if they pull that same crap again by delaying the race, when I get up at 6.30am on a sunday morning, only for it to start on inters if that happens.

I am as annoyed as anyone, if the helicopter can fly, it is safe to race.

Period.

Stop.
