McLaren have gone a little bit Ferrari with this - the expected MCL37 will be the MCL60.

Launching on Monday at 5pm

Hope it’s better than the MCL59.

Shame about the 37, though.  It would have been a race winner, a true championship contender.

We have to think more long-term and the big picture. The whole reason for the name change is in preparation for 2032.

I wish they'd brought back the MP4 moniker so that my forum name can become relevant again

The packaging looks very aggressive. Found it interesting that Stella gave special thanks to Brixworth.

Andrea didn't exactly sound too optimistic when asked about performance.

One thing is certain: they have done massive changes on the aero and sidepods.

Too early to tell if it will pay off or not, but they certainly went for a radically different aero philosophy, instead of doing incremental changes over last year's design. It's a ballsy decision, looking forward to see it on track.

The livery is soooooooo bad!

Looks like an evolution of last years car.

A Red-Bull clone as expected, the first thought I had: looks agressive. Last years car looked so bulky and basic (doesn't mean anything for the pace though).

Wow they have got aggressive and the RB clone route albeit to a smaller extent than Aston Martin last year.

Looks very fast.

Still don't like this livery btw

Shape-wise it's ok I guess, but the livery is just... ugly. :(

McLaren have been guilty of wrongly talking things up in the past but - Stella could have at least seemed a bit more positive.

Not just a livery launch at least but obviously that will not be the exact car that rolls out at the first race or even the test.

For sure. At least the general concept direction is giving me a little bit of hope, though. Stella did say there's good stuff in the pipeline even if he didn't sound excited about what was presented. I'll put it down to him not being used to the spotlight.

Quite interesting quotes from Andrea in here re development, doesn't exactly sound like it's going to be all that positive a start to the season.

Livery is probably down to the weight factor... It's okay I guess. I mean, lots of logos on the car for sure!

Like the aggressive stance on the side pods, so hoping it's quick. I imagine the floor area is not a true reflection of the final version

A lot of black.  Though I'm not sure it's all down to the livery.  Despite the early hype from the launches last season, the current cars win no beauty contests.

Im not a fan of the black, but if it has to be, then better more than less. The livery better than last year for sure, which is something I guess.

Not the best livery but sidepods and nosecone and FW are nice. Hope it will be quick!

The sidepod undercut is a complete reversal from last year’s initial concept. There’s been a lot of repackaging under the skin to make that happen.

The car looks much better than last year's car. I believe in Andrea Stella and his work ethic. We should be able to close the gap to the top three teams but it's not realistic to expect McLaren challenging them just yet as they still have the outdated infrastructure in place. I reckon the objective for this season is to close the gap to the front runners and try to capitalise on the mistakes they make with a few podiums, finishing 4th in WCC.

From what used to be one of the best looking cars on the grid for a couple of years, to now the worst looking car on the grid for the past two years  :drunk:

I think the livery is bit better than last year. Not great but better. Particullary from the front:

The Chrome logos either side of the drivers head make it look like it has a weird face...that is all I see now.
