I swear it feels like there is a longer gap between F2 finishing and F1 starting now, maybe i'm wrong

Was thinking about this too .... I figure its to let the sun go down properly.

Watching Max come through today will be boring. The cars he needs to pass won't fight because they know they'll screw their own race in the process.

It's messing with my head slightly with Spain being effectively the start of mid season.

It messes with mine that we're talking about Saudia rather than saudade.

(I understand Brazil moved to the end of the year because of the possiblity of heavy, 2003-like rain, but it still doesn't feel right)

Bet you were singing a different tune when it was Hamilton sailing past cars.

There's a good chance Perez will lead the WDC tomorrow...

Or Alonso…

It’s been like that for a decade.

Wouldn't "annyoing" be the more fitting term? :D

Not as boring as having to read opinions like these.

Since DRS.

I think the Pirellis are also a reason for that.

Perhaps less boring than running away at the front?

Same schedule as last year.

Near to the equator ... seasons dont matter that much for time of sunset... maybe an hour max between "summer" and "winter" - probably less... 30 minutes difference most likely.

Happy to be corrected by anybody there or living at the same(ish) latitude. ...

Edit - just checked and it was the same time of year last year ..... so I guess I dont get your point.

Since DRS.

This is one of the main reasons I want rid of DRS, any front-runner qualifying in the lower half of the grid doesn’t really matter any more…or certainly very little.

I’m thinking Perez will win this with Verstappen coming back to 3rd, maybe even 2nd…with Alonso making up the other step of the podium.

Know it's clear that if he hits 3rd by say 10 laps to go regardless of gap there will be a another stinking multi 1/2

Perez could have won the last year race had it not been for a SC.

Barring any accidents he should win this today on pure pace

I'm saying that the scheduling is the same. The belief was that there was a longer gap between F2 and F1. As far as global positioning is concerned, I'm in the Canaries, similar lat, around 3 hours winter to summer, but of course, this includes the +1 for daylight saving

They are behind Aston, possibly Alpine. How much more trouble do you need before they're allowed to say they're in trouble?

Behind Alpine?

A couple of tenths behind a team going 'Our car is amazing' should not make Mercedes go 'What a disaster, this car is terrible and needs to be scrapped'

They also seem to be clear of Ferrari atm, not bad for a team 'in trouble'.  There's at least 6 other teams who'd take that trouble.....

Fair enough. I had posted this before today's race. You seem to be correct in your assessment.
