Or rodents of unusual size
I don’t think they exist…

Congrats to the 46 who had them losing on pace!
They tally has curiously crept up to 48.

Next race is the last "hurdle" ?
They certainly didn’t expect it to be that much of a hurdle

I never thought they could go such a long season unbeaten but didn't expect it in this fashion - I figured either a random mechanical problem or a Schlesser moment for Verstappen, when Perez was having an off-day

I am shocked by Red Bulls lack of pace in Singapore. This just makes no sense to me. This is a car that Max has been cruising the field with up until this weekend. In that class of 0.5-0.8 secs per lap. Comfortable.
And then this happened. Why? Did the FIA technical directives force a change in the RB or was it just a group of circumstances that hit all of their weaknesses. Guess we'll know next week.

When was the last time an outright dominant car failed to reach q3 and looked completely out of contention like that?
People point to Mercedes at Singapore 2015 but they were still far more competitive than Red Bull here and made q3 with both drivers. I would also say it was an unusual formula that focused on engine performance so some of the high downforce tracks would throw odd results.

Mercedes qualified 1.5 seconds behind pole in 2015. Verstappen was only 7 tenths off the top Q2 time and 1 second off the pole time. So your second point is not correct. Merc wasn't as competitive. They were even slower. The only reason Merc didn't suffer in 2015 is because the field was more spread out back then. More evidence of how the new rules have tightened up the pack.
The Q2 knockout is also a red herring because Verstappen pretty much gave it away with a mistake in T1 that was worth 3-4tenths. Singapore isn't the first place that this happened. It's happened numerous times for Perez. It's just the first time Verstappen's garage didn't get it together either.

The field certainly are closer due to the engine parity and regulations, but don't think you can discount actual position entirely. Q3 is still the top 10 cars, regardless of the actual gap.
Either way, that you have to look back 8 years to find another example that is similarly odd really does show how uncommon this level of performance swing is.

I suppose the OP has been answered…so, will Redbull win every race bar one?

We’ve seen this quite a few times in qualifying this season. If a big team get it even slightly wrong, they can be out in Q2 (or even Q1) due to the small gaps.
How many times have we seen Perez not make it to Q3? It’s also happened to the Ferrari and Mercedes drivers a few times this year too.
