I predict Russell/Hamilton to be beyond Hamilton/Rosberg level tension after 6 races. Russell is the toughest teammate Hamilton has ever had. No other teammate has edged him in qualifying over a season.

Only when Mercedes has a car that can mingle for the win. Else it will be about the same as last year.

Not predictions as such, but:

Optimistic
Red Bull - I think they have free lap-time in their pocket
Ferrari - Showed real, consistent progress and seem to understand fundamentals of the regulations
Alpha Tauri - Massive upward trajectory and RB integration
Williams - Shifted focus to 24 very early and Vowles management seems solid and focussed

Unsure
Mercedes - Don't trust that they fully understand the regulations
McLaren - Still feels they're half a step behind. Hard to follow last year's big jump
Aston Martin - Doubt they can match development rate of top teams

Pessimistic
Alpine - Too many undelivered promises
Sauber - Decided to change concept into 24 very late, not enough time for James Key to make impact
Haas - Fundamental lack of engineering understanding

Also, I think there is a small chance Verstappen wins every race. We know he likes to set challenges for himself and his engineers. After 2023, where else can they go? Perez won't be able to steal any wins this year, and I am very confident RB will get on top of their weaknesses.

The McLaren hype train seems to be in great demand this year.

Ferrari and Merc step forward relative to end of last year. McLaren slightly less impressive as a result (though gap to RB not growing)

RB 3-4 tenth advantage at Bahrain. Merc 2nd force

Lewis wins 3 races, Russell 0.
Verstappen wins 15 races
Leclerc wins a race from outside pole position

Rosberg did in 2014.

My predictions for the 2024 season are that Lewis will win the WDC with Max a VERY close second and that the constructors title will be won by Red Bull.

My utterly insane dream prediction: Alex Albon 2024 WDC 😂

Don’t see anything changing tbh!

Maybe RBs advantage a little less but not enough to fundamentally change results.

Mclaren, Ferrari and Merc with each other. The rest? Couldn’t care less.

Merc build another car that struggles in the first part of the season, introducing so many changes that the engineers have a hard time figuring out the bottle neck. Again, they gradually show occasional competitiveness and consistency eventually. However, this time the team implodes, as Wolff runs out of acceptable explanations. He cannot motivate his team for 2025 anymore: Three transitional seasons in a row calls for more drastic measures. Key figures start blaming each other in public. Ultimately, Merc enter 2025 either without Hamilton, Allison, or Wolff.

Ferrari builds a decent car and Leclerc doesn't make notable mistakes, setting the stage for an epic 2025 season.

Lando wins two Grand Prix races.

McLaren and Mercedes fight for P2 in the WCC.

Lewis demolishes George.

Ferrari P3, where Carlos thoroughly demolishes Charles.

There is serious rumour of Charles moving to *** for 2025.

Adrian Newey announces his retirement in the near future.

  • Piastri will win at least one race. Norris won't.
  • Per above, McLaren will struggle with intra team rivalry (taking the shape of Oscar not giving a bother, Norris blowing his lid)
  • Perez will be jettisoned by RB before the summer break. He will retire rather than go to AT.
  • Ricciardo will snag a podium in the AT and earn his promotion to RB
  • Lawson will replace Ricciardo at AT and beat Tsunoda
  • Stroll will quit at the end of the year, and move over to the Hypercar project. This will be dressed up as Stroll pursuing other projects to save face.
  • Bottas will retire at the end of the year.
  • One of either Schumacher or Doohan will end up racing at least once this year, and they will beat their teammate when they do
  • Hamilton will beat Russell again
  • Sainz will beat Leclerc, but both will extend their contract with Ferrari
  • Haas will finish not just last, but a dead dead last.
  • Williams will improve. Sargeant will score a minimum of 10 points and Albon will record three top 5 finishes.
  • Sargeant will qualify inside the top 10 in Miami.
  • Both Ricciardo and Piastri will score points in Melbourne.
  • Verstappen wins the title with winning the majority of races.
  • McLaren win the constructor's title, due to Perez' failures at the start of the year

Sadly, it'll be another total Red Bull/Max domination.

“Far too early”
aka wishing/doomposting predictions based on last year's data since there won’t be relevant data until the Bahrain test.

- Verstappen handily wins WDC, Perez does well enough to give RBR Constructor's Championship. RBR not as dominant as last year.
- Once this season, Red Bull and RB will sweep the podium
- McLaren/Ferrari/Mercedes all win at least one race; Norris finally gets his maiden win.
- RB has a big step up in performance, consistently scores points.
- Albon consistently scores points. Sargeant shows more consistency and scraps some points, but ultimately replaced for 2025.
- Gasly finally has some luck, dominates Ocon in the Alpine teammate battle.
- Aston Martin relegated to midfield as other teams catch up.
- Sauber struggle for 2 years as they transition to Audi.
- Haas continue to struggle. New rumors of Haas selling his team.

- Vestappen to win WDC, but margin is less than last year.

- McLaren are closest challengers to RB - Norris wins his first race but him a Piastri form a bromance and trade podiums all season, further wins for both drivers follow

- Perez gets dropped after 6 races and replaced with Ricardo

- Mercedes make another difficult car and Hamilton destroys George over the season

- Ferrari have a decent season and win a few races, Sainz wins at Monza and secures a new contract

- Aston Martin struggle in the back end of the points, Lance Stroll announces he will retire at the end of the season

- Williams are fighting for regular points with Visa RB but manage to snag an unlikely podium - Lawson returns to Visa RB after Perez is dropped from RBR

- Haas are nowhere and Gunther stages a buyout with Alfa Romeo taking over

- Sauber score no points for the first half of the season, Bottas retires not willing to stay for Audi project

- Alpine self implode and are at the back of the field with Haas and Sauber

I doubt George will have a year worst than last year, it will be a good fight. I hope Lewis edges it.

Max winning everything again, but i hope some safe problems happen with the car, so DNFs for others to grab something.

I hope Piastri grows, i want to see another ATG coming to life.

A dream? If not Lewis again, a Lerclec championship too.

Let's see what the crystal ball reveals:

1. Lando Norris will try to grow a beard. He fails. - check

2. One of Alonso or Hamilton decides to get a clean shave. In the face, that is. - nope

3. Zak Brown will hire at least two additional reserve drivers. O'Ward however will actually race in Mexico, because Norris accidentally swallowed the worm from a Mezcal bottle and is overwhelmed from joy and happiness thereafter. - sadly nope

4. Vettel sightings at three or more races. Neither can he let go of F1 nor decide to return. A free cockpit would be available, as Lance Stroll calls it a day after an abysmal outing at Monaco. - sadly nope

6. Ocon and Gasly rediscover their friendship and go on a romantic weekend trip to Blackpool. As this turns out a bit of a disaster they revert to antagonism. - check (except of the Blackpool bit)

7. Ferrari is in a bit of a mess and out of pure viciousness (It's I) LeClerc and Sainz race the helmet designs of Alesi and Berger in Monza. - sadly nope

Could have been worse, all in all.
