Anyone know what time the FIA will be publishing the new 2024 F1 Entry List today, along with the new official team names for Sauber and Alpha Tauri?

Suprised Sauber and RedBu22 haven’t taken the chance to get a days press out of unveiling their new identities rather than waiting for an FIA release.

But were that the case surely they would have been announced as title sponsor rather than just a sponsor - unless, following the Aston Martin model you were to have more than one title sponsor - so logic suggests we'll see the 3M Monster Energy McLaren Mercedes team when the entry list is released.

With McLaren having announced Monster Energy as a sponsor before the start of the new year, part of me wonders if they were announced early as they will show up on the entry list as a title sponsor.
They just replaced Coca Cola. Coca Cola part-owns Monster.

Wouldn’t be the first time the entry list is released with TBAs on it.

Give them a bit. They’re still figuring out how to spell Andretti/Cadillac…

Apparently it should happen no later than December 15th as per the regulations: https://twitter.com/...007530349551784

So I expect a revision to the regulations to be published in the next couple of days.

Yet both Sauber and Alpha Tauri have stated the name of the team first will be announced on this list. So hence the anticipation.

AT dude (was it Peter Bayer?) said on ServusTV's Hangar 7 Talk (or whatever the show is called) a few days ago, their new name will be announced in January. ServusTV is Redbull's very own TV station.

I have always quierlt resented Sauber being called anything other than Sauber. Hopefully they'll just go back to it. If AT can be rebranded 'Mianrdi' then this will ne a Merry Christmas indeed.

I always kept calling them Sauber because... they still were Sauber. Alfa Romeo was just a sponsor and nothing more and they actually paid not much to get the team named after them for a couple of years, it's even baffling they didn't have to pay more for it. But the team always still was Sauber. A sponsor is just a sponsor and not the owner of the team.

Company is still Sauber but Sauber is not an owner anymore.

The Alfa Romeo deal was a bit more than just a (title)sponsor deal. But the constructor, indeed, has always remained to be Sauber.

True, but the deal was also so much less than the once-great Alfa Romeo make deserves. Speaking as one who drives around in an Alfa pretending to be Nuvolari, I found the half-hearted splatting of Alfa red on parts of a Sauber rather embarrassing.
Sauber also has some reason to be proud of its history, and it's a shame when the owners of a make abandon its original identity for no good reason. (Come back, Minardi). All credit to Ron Dennis and Zak Brown for perpetuating the real name of their racing team. On the other hand, I understand why Wolff & co don't call theirs Honda or BAR. And obviously Audi are going to use their own name; that would make sense.

I think no one will ever argue with how perfectly you described this.
The Alfa of the golden years was really something. The best engineers in the business, who designed a car which was driven by the best drivers in the business, which was propelled by an engine that was the best in the business because it was engineered by the best in the business. The Sauber escapade was a bit more than a simple title sponsorship. But in the end it also was just a naming convention in essence.

So Cognizant to be dropped from the team name at Aston Martin.

And probably they don't sponsor the team anymore neither.

Likely they are "just" a partner/sponsor from now on but no title sponsor.

I think it was already announced earlier in the year that Cognizant were not going to be in the title from next year, but they're still involved as a partner.

Interestingly, the Jordan cars are officially entered as "Aston Martin Aramco – Mercedes", but there was never any fuss about the team adopting that name for 2022, after having entered as "Aston Martin – Mercedes" before. I thought that changes to constructor names were subject to unanimous approval by the other entrants?

Not by me they won't. "Sterzo-powered-by-Nescafe with Marks and Spencer fashion brands®" is excited to announce going forward he'll be delighted to call Aston Martins "Aston Martins".

AFAIK that’s only mid season.

You are mistaken. The constructor is Midland. Or was it Spyker? Farce India? But on a serious note, Aston Martin has always had a sponsor name in its name.
