Would anyone have any info on the above? I remember someone posting some timing sheets on here from one year but can't find them now... ..

Rosberg 1'14.15"

de Cesaris 1'14.57"

Bellof 1'15.72"

Boutsen was in the A7, Rosberg first time out in the FW09B, all others regular.

1986 Brands Hatch tyre test was 28 May. One notable item was that Mansell drove the FW10 as well as the FW11. The cars ran with full cigarette sponsorship. I have a few photos.

Mansell at the 1986 Brands tyre test. The rear wing 'Canon' sponsorship distinguishes it from the '85 car (Denim).

That’s fascinating, I was at the 86 test and have absolutely no recollection of seeing the FW10.

It was a 2 day test if I recall (not that that seems worth much!) so perhaps it only ran on a single day?

Willians had a full compliment of FW11’s from the very first race so I wonder what the reason was for bringing the FW10 along was?

Regards Mike

It's a long time ago but I recall only noticing this when I got the photos developed: I assume it only ran a few laps. And I have photos taken either side of this with both Mansell and Piquet in FW11s so my only guess is that it was a test mule for something?

There appears to have been an FW10 at race day too. No idea what the photo call was but you wouldn’t get away with it these days…

I don’t suppose anyone batted an eyelid at the time.

I suppose that you could argue that everything about those test days should be publicly disclosed. Teams play games (mostly boring ones) and the historic stuff is unimportant (or almost, unless there was something a bit unethical) .
