Welcome back!

The Autosport Forum's 5th Annual Official Unofficial Formula E Street Circuit Design Competition

-----TIME TO VOTE------

Many thanks to all who participated in this FIFTH edition of the Autosport Forum's Annual Official Unofficial Formula E Street Circuit Design Competition, where we shall select the fifth winner and host of sixth edition. Procedure is as follows:

  • Please place a vote in the poll for your winner, your preferred entry.
  • Please also make a post in the thread listing your top three entries; this allows me to use the second and third preferences as a tiebreaker if necessary.
  • You are not allowed to vote for your own entry in either the poll or your top three post.
  • Deadline for the voting is 23:59 on the 15th March 2024

This will take us right up to the eve of the second running of the real-life São Paulo ePrix, where I hope all of you participating and voting will be able to join us.

Quick recap of the entires and links to the original posts are as follows:

Picking my top three to kick things off:

1) Second Gibraltar ePrix - PayasYouRace (I like airport circuits, and the inherent silliness of the Grand Prix du Rock universe which this inhabits)
2) Da Lap ePrix - Shawnybantzy (Geneuily looks like a fun circuit)
3) Douro ePrix - JRodrigues (location, location, location)

Sorry for not being able to submit an entry this season!

Will think about a ground-breaking entry for the next one  :smoking:

These are my picks!
It was so hard to go for a Top 3. This year's entry were all very well documented and presented, give yourself a pat on the back guys

1) Da Lap ePrix -  Genuinely looks like a Formula E track that could be in the calendar right away. Interesting location too, set to become a Green gem in the near future, so environmental ties
2)  Maldives e-Prix - Probably the most spectacular race location ever submitted in the contest. Very strong connection to climate change and rise of sea levels. Very decent track layout too, suitable for FE's future generations.
3) Madrid e-Prix - Fascinating work by Ben, reprofiling an existing structure to create a FE track. Very cool story behind the old oval and connections to EV's given it's the Stellantis factory site.

Honorable mention to the San Marino e-Prix track:  close to my home, it's a winner in it's own class for me  :smoking:

My top 3

1 Maldives - Love the way it incorporates the bridge
2 San Marino - Reminds me of a track Formula E used once (was it Bern?) That was an interesting track.
3 Madrid - Like the idea of making a track out of an oval and surrounding roads.

Tough call between Da Lat, Gibraltar and Madrid for me. But

  1. Gibraltar
  2. Madrid
  3. Da Lat

As usual, a difficult choice which would probably see me picking an entirely different trio on another day. But I'm voting today so...

1. Maldives - Just for that epic bridge.
2. San Marino - My love of gradient on race tracks has been amply demonstrated in previous competitions, but this is a different level (pun entirely intended).
3. Douro - The most "standard" track of the three, but it does still have those two river crossings and it looks like it would be quick and fun.

1. Douro: epic views with the river crossings, a good track and a vibrant host city.

2. Da Lat: great environment, probably would feel like a rollercoaster with the elevation and the fast turns.

3. San Marino: probably more Mille Miglia than Formula E, but it would surely provide an amazing spectacle.

This seems to have fallen down the back of the sofa but (albeit a week and a half late) congratulations to LegendInTheMaking - the 5th Formula E Circuit Design Champion.

Already looking forward to seeing what will be dreamt up next time.
