If F1 were to hold a similar round to celebrate a milestone in the championship - what could/should be each teams best/most iconic livery?

Ferrari: Stop being cowards and give us the full NART blue and white treatment remembering the 1964 American races.
McLaren: let’s go back to the very start and have the “Yamura” white with a green stripe. We’ve seen a lot of papaya and “Marlboro” tributes lately.
Williams: Yellow over dark blue over white. Williams have already thrown back to Rothmans. Let’s throw back to Canon.
Mercedes: Not enough variety under the Mercedes name. Let’s go classic Tyrrell. Overall French blue with white sponsors.
Alpine: A team with double heritage, I’d like to start with bold green, yellow, red and blue like a late 80s Benetton.
Toro Rosso: Very dark blue, yellow sidepods.
Aston Martin: Yellow and black, with a snake nose and long red tongue.
Sauber: All black, with white wings.
Red Bull: Overall white with stripes in the Stewart tartan.
HAAS: Lacking any real heritage, let’s go with the traditional US racing colours and look a bit like an AAR Eagle in blue and white.

Subjective as hell but I'll give it my best shot, I feel less strongly about some than others though. In no particular order:
Ferrari: 1983-92
Williams: 1985-93
McLaren: Sorry for being obvious but yeah, Marlboro
Toro Rosso: Minardi 1985-88; 1991-92
Aston: Plain BRG I guess (or if going by the team continuation, I guess a toss up between the 191 or one of the 1997-1999 B&H cars)
Alpine: Renault 1979-85 (or some sort of Mild Seven Benetton if going by the team continuation, I guess, maybe even one of Alonso's title winning Renaults)
Merc: Plain silver arrows i guess? Maybe one of Jackie Stewart's Tyrrells if they can claim that heritage
Sauber: The Red Bull scheme would be a no-go I guess, so take the green stripes off for their original all black
Actually sod it, let Red Bull run a retro Sauber scheme
Haas: N/A, not been around long enough

Red Bull - The livery before the matt one where the blue blended to sections of purple.
Ferrari - Plain Ferrari scarlet. Not Marlboro red. Something very similar to what they did for the race at Mugello in 2020.
Mercedes - I think it has to be going back to plain silver. I wouldn't mind it if they could incorporate some blue into it as a nod to the team being able to trace its history back to Tyrrell. One Tyrrell livery I like that you rarely hear about is the 1984 maroon and gold one.
McLaren - It has to be the Marlboro livery. Too iconic to choose anything else.
Aston Martin - Green. Something that reflects the current livery and the 1991 original Jordan.
Alpine - My favourite Enstone livery is the turqoise, blue and green from 1994, which also marks the teams first championship. I would also like a nod to the 1977-85 version of the Renault F1 team. One car would have red numbers and the other blue, maybe they could also do that.
Williams - The green and white Saudia airlines livery was my favourite.
RB - Although it isn't my favourite I think it has to be the black and yellow that Minardi ran from 1985 to 1992
Sauber - Black as they were in their early days.
Haas - In 9 years they have failed to produce a livery that is memorable in any way. They can therefore have the red and blue of the other Haas team in the mid 80s.

Mercedes - The original BAR livery with the zip
Ferrari - the one from Miami but with additional green Mission Winnow logos
McLaren - the red and black one when Honda came back
Aston Martin - the Midland livery
Alpine - the first ING Renault livery
Williams - the Winfield one. Or the Aquafresh toothpaste one from the testing before Rokit disappeared
VCARB - the bright yellow Telefonica livery from 2000
Sauber - that nice boring one from 2014 or so
Haas - the Mazepin one

Mostly limiting my options to liveries that were used by an incarnation of the team in question not TOO far removed from the current one based on by subjective standards, and picking based on different criteria as some are just good looking, while others are more nostalgic or fun.
Red Bull: Red Bull can style with silver concept from 2004. It's kind of the only individual one that sticks out to me.
Ferrari: 1995 one is great, as mentioned above.
Mercedes: How about a super plain silver one? I'm tempted to break my own rules though and just go for the split BAR livery just for fun (but that would never ever happen, so.. ).
McLaren: Marlboro without Marlboro is just bland, so no... How about the chrome/red livery?
Aston: An Aston with a retro Jordan livery is wrong in a way, but 7 Up is green, so what the heck... Let's go Jordan 1991!
Alpine: If Alonso was still there I probably would have gone for a 2005/2006 Renault kind of livery, but now... Maybe a good ol' yellow Renault livery, like a late '70s one.
Haas: Rich Energy of course. ♥️
TR PayPal Mastercard NFL Netflix: 2008 Torro Rosso to celebrate Vettel's epic win.
Williams: A sort of '90s livery without a the iconic sponsors would just look boring. Get Canon back for a one-off and a 1992 one would work.
Sauber: Petronas Red Bull is THE Sauber livery, but again, it needs at least one of the actual sponsors in my opinion. I can't think of anything else though...

Throwback round would have to be at Monaco too - probably still the closest track to what it was like when most of all these retro liveries were originally active
Or Monza. That’s pretty much the been the same for ever.

Such livery should reflect their most iconic (not necessarily the same thing as their most visually attractive) livery.
Also, if possible the livery used should be from the current iteration (Mercedes running a Tyrrell livery makes no real sense to me). Although some exceptions may be necessary as we’ll get to later.
For such a race it should be mandated that no logos that weren’t on the original design should be added.
…also no logos or modern day swooshie stuff on the helmets. Or at least mandate that helmet designs for this race must be true to the era from which the car’s livery is plucked.
This would roughly bring us:
Red Bull - they don’t have any nice retro liveries at all since they have essentially run with the same livery from day one. But for the sake of it just do the original one from whatever year they became Red Bull
Ferrari - doesn’t really matter, but perhaps one of the marlboro-red Schumi-era designs? They were so identical from 1998 onwards that it doesn’t really matter which one.
McLaren - for all the talk of papaya orange and whatnot, surely their Marlboro-liveries of the 80’s and 90’s are their most iconic?
Mercedes - slightly left-field here, but why not the extremely simple Sauber-Mercedes silver arrow sportscar livery from the early 90’s?
RB - again, such a soul-less livery producer… but perhaps one of the black/yellow Minardi designs (1990?) could be used.
Haas - I don’t know… Could they skip this round of the Championship?
Aston Martin - One of the Benson & Hedges Jordans.
Alpine - Early 80’s Renault. 1983 to be more precise.
Sauber - the one from their debut season in 1993.
Williams - Early 90’s blue/white/yellow. More iconic than Rothmans.

Have the FIA select a season from the past and force the teams to use the corresponding livery. Teams that were not a part of that season need to use the livery of a team that has since been lost to the sport. The season must be at least 20 years old.
Just for the sake of it I used a randomizer and it came up with 1992 as the suggestion, so use that this time. Next time we do some other season (randomizer said 1987). Well, you get the idea…

Harder than it sounds, isn’t it?
Though I definitely draw the line at your Mercedes suggestion. Using a livery from a different category, from a different constructor that currently still competes against you in F1 is taking the piss.
